mcpenguin5, how did you get that great rate? The rates on their website are much higher than that.

RonUSVI - I totally qualified my times as "no traffic" just so they would realize neither location was close by the airport.
The traffic between Fr. Reef and the airport , particularly by Havensite and Mandela Maljunction can be horrendous and the ride could take forever - certainly the over the mountain route from the east end - Wyndham - is less likely to encounter a major traffic jam but it can't be driven in less than 30+ min -- no matter what. I do it almost daily , fast BMW and all.

Hi, Scott!!

Your "neighbor" Sue, here. I just hopped out online & saw your post for the first time. GOOD FOR YOU!! So glad to hear that you are heading back. (Take better care of that wedding ring this time!!) LOL

Anyway, you are probably all set with your one night stay by now. But, if you aren't. You might want to consider Secret Harbor Beach Resort. Yes - it is not near the airport - but, you can get to the airport in about 30 minutes from there. We have never had a problem. (We have always taken a taxi.)

I don't know what time your flight out is - but, Secret Harbour has many advantages. We LOVE the beachfront accomodations. Great beachfront restaurant both casual for day, breakfast through dinner. And is lovely & more special for a special LAST VACATION meal, at night, as well.

We always try to check in the early afternoon of the day that we are staying. Lovely tree lined beach with great snorkeling. We always try to get a mid afternoon flight home & are able to enjoy a good full morning of beach time before we need to head to the airport.

Just wanted to add to your list of possibles!

Again. Congrats!

Sue

My daughter-in-law called them to see what they had available, as the web site showed only one room. We needed two. They quoted her the $125 (bear in mind that this is Thanksgiving Week, too!) for the Superior Suites. We were thrilled, as we were originally going to stay at the Emerald beach near the airport. We wanted something closer to Red Hook Ferry, as we wanted a shorter Taxi ride in the morning. She didn't have to haggle or anything, they just offered it to her. I loved the attentiveness of the staff, they all treated us so well, I felt like they thought we were famous or something. We just today received my husband's coat which I had forgotten when we left. We contacted them by email to ask them how we could retrieve it, thinking we would have to go over there to get it. They emailed back that they would messenger it to us on St. John or mail it to our house, whichever we wished. We opted for the mail. It cost them $5.00, and was well wrapped. I cannot imagine we would have gotten such treatment from the management company that handled our Villa if we had left something there.
Three pools, great ocean views from every room, Shuttle service around the resort at a moment's notice, and you have to try Fungie's restaurant there. I am so glad we stayed there.

I'd love to hear suggestions for inexpensive places to spend 1 night near the STT airport. 8:00 am flight + 13 year old = panic attack for sinawitatanka. I'd like to rest assured that we will make our flight home!
