If you don't have a generator that is try all you have is the water in the back of the toilet so you have one flush you could dip water out of the pool if you had to. But when in the island you go by if its yellow let it mellow if it.s brown flush it down

Ask the management company to explain their security deposit policy. We got stuck for a broken lamp because the agent came back to us for $180. We thought we were covered with the non-refundable fee of $35.00.....unfortunately we were wrong. :o :o

PJ -- You cannot use the water if there is no power because the pump that takes water from the cistern and pressurizes it for the faucets , showers and toilets is electric.
A bucket of water from the pool poured in the toilet bowl will flush the toilet, no problem.
I don't know if these rental villas have generators which is why I said ----------- ask?
Many homes will have oil lanterns or at worst, candles for emergency light but generally have a flashlight by the bed.

I figured that one out already. It's the distance between where I'm sitting and the kitchen counter/fridge! :)

Waterguy - I saw a sign in the bathroom at Soggy Dollar that said something like that, but I can't remember now what it was. It rhymed and was funny, though. First I'd heard of that rule. :)

Sorry....recent personal experience....
Heh heh...I could add "Will there be lizards watching me in the bathroom? Two of them? BIG ones?? EVERY DAY??

Good thing that was the extra bathroom...

I don't ask questions before I get there...I don't know why. One thing I really appreciate once at the house though, is being shown where all the light swtiches are! I once rented a house that I never figured out how to turn on the outside lights at, and this past trip at one house it took me three days to find the pool light. (Yeah, I could have called but I'm lazy).

I don't ask too many questions either. I figure if it has a coffee maker and a pool, I can make everything else work. As a former villa manager, you would think that I have high expectations, but surprisingly they are fairly low.

Last year I stayed in 2 houses that I will not stay in again. One was very nice, just not my style and the other was horrible, but the price was right and I was onisland so how bad could it have been?
(just for the record it was bad, but I still managed to enjoy myself)
