Pia: it's so great to get the inside scoop! Villa websites don't tell us everything.

Do you know anything about Lille Paradis or Stone Harbor? Both are 1 bedroom + loft, which could work for a small family. But it's not clear to me if the bedroom is accessed from the main living area or if you go outside to get to it. (I think at LP the bedroom is accessed from outside, Stone Harbor not sure.)

Thanks!

Flip: another on my list in Coral Bay are La Bella Villa (all on one level, small pool, don't know about AC.)

The other villa I've found that has 2 bedrooms on either side of a great room is Caneel Trailside, but that's outside of your target area.

I have been to Little P many times - what exactly would you like to know ??

You are correct though with the bedroom situation at LP - the main bedroom is downstairs and the loft is upstairs with a spiral outside metal staircase connecting the two. Also the stairs to the loft are in the form of a modified "ladder" so not really great if you have difficulty climbing (and the bathroom would be down the stairs - not great if you have been drinking all night  ) Also it does share a driveway with La Sirena so even though it is way out there (past Saltpond and very quite) it is strange that there are two homes right next to each other.

Sorry do not know Stone Harbor.

I had looked at Rhumb Runners closely, it appears to be the same floor plan as Bay House - but further up the hill.

Rhumb Runners looks great (and it does look to be the same layout as Bay House :)) but does on one rental website say no children under 7 :( but maybe you could confirm that.

The other house that shares a driveway with Bay House (and has almost the identical layout) is Sea Biscuit - I think the inside though is not quite as "fancy" as Bay House but would be good for kids as you wouldn't have to worry about them ruining anything  (The sofa slipcover is not yellow as shown in the pictures but I think a red(ish) color but the walls are stil painted in the bright Caribbean colors :)) I don't know of their policy regarding children though so do check.

I'll keep thinking and see if I can think of anymore that I know of (there are many I don't)

flop, try LITTLE PLANTATION, way up the hill from Cocoloba Plaza and Crabby's. 1 bedroom in main house, 1 bedroom in pool house.

You might look at this one but a few things to ask/think about...

1) When was it updated (I saw it before it sold and I believe it has been totally redone - a good thing  )
2) Bedroom layout (I can't remember where they are so don't know if they are all accessable from inside)
3) Sun on pool - I think it is shaded by afternoon (early)
4) Again for me - road might be an issue - rough and bumpy :(

Thanks guys, I am taking these all into consideration. Pia, I have looked at the last one you shared and am curious about the same things you are. I LOVE sea biscuit. That is adorable so I have an email in there!

It's a "normal" STJ road

If you have only ever driven on a paved road here it could be quite an experience but it is quite doable - bumpy and rutted (especially after a heavy rain) but I can do it - although I always hope I don't meet someone coming the other way

I guess I am a little biased, by my parents house is in Coral Bay. It is only one bedroom, but I took my daughter at 10 weeks and again at 6 months to stay with Grammy & Poppy. We put an air mattress in the family room and then put it away during the day. It had a great view, a pool, a/c, beautiful patio. It is called Island Dreams and can be found at www.bookitvi.com

I actually had my eye on that one but wondered if it would be too tight for the 4 of us. Looks great!

To flip flop

Post by PSUWethr »

It is by no means spacious when compared to some of the monster villas, but we did ok with a queen size blow up mattress. We spent most of the time on either of the decks, by the pool or on the back patio. (It is pretty cool back there there is even a patch of grass to remind us of cutting grass in Pennsylvania). If want any more info, just email me....I could get you a great rate!

In STJ withdrawal....its been 12 weeks. 8)

Thanks so much for the info. I think we are going for a slightly larger place as we may have talked gramma into joining us. If we convince our other friends to come, I'll definitely put this one on their list. It looks beautiful!
