I know I'm older than you, CG, and I can't remember watching Howdie Doodie or Clarabelle. I think I'm so old my memory is failing me. :( I do remember Mighty Mouse and Beenie and Cecil. I'm sure know one else has ever heard of Beenie and Cecil........a sea serpant and some other kind of critter.

Why are sock monkeys scary? I see why clowns, but those little monkeys are so cute. :D

I was scared of my sock monkey when I was a kid. My grandmother made it for me and it really creeped me out. I still have it, actually. Now it creeps my niece and nephew out!

I never had a problem with clowns, but my Dad is scared of them. I once gave him a book called "Bad Clowns" for Christmas. It was a book of photos of creepy looking clowns. His reaction was pretty funny.

Oh my gosh! I can't remember the year, but it was in the 50's. I found an episode on You Tube. You'll like it because it's set in TEXAS!

I feel deprived as I didn't have sock monkey :(

I do remember (and loved) Howdie Doodie, Clarabelle and Mighty Mouse. Don't know the Beanie guy or the rabbit. Probably "Banned in Boston"

CG, I actually sat through that video, all 4 min. and 2 seconds. He went to destroy Texas because they were chasing out all his cousins, all named Jack. They didn't finish the story. I have to stay tuned for the next episode. I wonder when that will be? I REALLY do need to get a job.

My niece's daughter got a "Just Like Me Doll" that is suppose to look like the child. Holy crap! It's like a female "Chucky" doll. Everytime I go to visit I put a dishtowel over her head and hide the cutlery!!

Here is my scary bedtime photo for you...creepy Joey, the evil sock monkey. He's a vintage monkey, so he gets to have a beer.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28539958@N00/2404678878/" title="joey by liamsaunt, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/240 ... c21001.jpg" width="375" height="500" alt="joey"></a>

bevm, I have seen those dolls, and I agree...they are even creepier than my creepy Joey the sock monkey. Did you know that you can even buy matching outifits for them, so your child and the doll can look "EXACTLY" the same?? :?

I know! It's "Like Whatever Happened to Baby Jane"..I don't know what's creepier. They all scare the crap out of me.. I had an imaginary friend named Jeannie. She was quite attractive and not scarey at all. Sometimes she still visits me....
