Picking up the vibe
Hi, Shari, as a fellow Cincinnatian and a lover of the Stj and Carnival I had to respond to your question.
(1)what should we expect Carnival to be like on STJ
The only down side would be if you are arriving or leaving on July 4th. St. John has a tremendous influx of people from other islands both US and the BVI - on the 4th there is NO ferry schedule - the ferries depart as soon as they are full, they are constantly arriving and departing.
Other than that you are in for a real cultural treat. All Virgin Islanders love Carnival! It is the most anticipated cultural event of the year! It includes nightly bands in Carnival village, pageants for Carnival royalty and fairs showcasing local crafts, food and drinks (and some local drinks are non-alcoholic). It is an exposition of culture and a treasured tradition that is passed down year after year.

YES, but in a good way, some of the best performances by bands are not until later in the evening. I hope you will enjoy the St. John 4 th of July Celebration!

first trip
Hi Shari, U will have such a great time on STJ! the vista's & Beaches r Beathtaking! Great taste in villas! 
we r booked for Miles Away this May for over 3 wks.!!!! can't wait!!! it has gotten such great reviews & when booking last yr. spoke with owner Cindy who could'nt of been nicer!!! This will b our 4th stay in villa on STJ! will post pic's when we're back.& oh yes. that's about what we pd. for air tickets from cleve. but it's so worth it!!!!! You'll Love it!!!!
