Suzi...parking is not free anymore at AC airport but it is something like $5 or $8/day. I don't know for sure cause we get dropped off and picked up so don't leave a car there. Sorry I don't know for sure, someone else might. Maybe their website has the exact amount.

We did have some bad first hand experience w/ AA in San Juan on our return from STT but at least it was on the return. Luggage was loaded improperly causing problems and delays. Lots of frustration and angry people. We had had 10 days of island time so coped OK. I think bad stuff can happen w/ any airline. We just have been lucky w/ Spirit maybe.

Also just to clarify, the newest planes were on the FLL to STT leg of the trip.

We paid for our bags ahead of time at the online rate of $5 each...not that big of a deal if you have booked the flight at a good rate.

As far as check-in and security here in AC, basically its a breeze. I don't think it has ever been more than 30 minutes tops. We usually arrive at the recommended 2 hour ahead of flight time. It's a pretty small airport.

Decisions decisions!!! At least you are going to get to a wonderful place one way or another ! Goodluck

Suzi-
As Carolyn said it was free a couple years ago but now it's $7 a day (we have to pay for the new parking garage their building) but it is a close walk to the terminal or you can use the shuttle bus.

SJ from NJ- I am bummed about the US Air non stop from PHL not being offered on Sundays in June...It was so nice not having to worry about a connection or lost luggage.
