To all you photogs...it's time to purchase a lens. Help!
Thanks, Vicki! I've gone and held a few but can't decide which "feels" right. (That ought to be enough bait for this thread to stay just on the edge of the gutter.)
I agree with you 100% on the bags- it's SO hard to find cute ones that don't look like some 18-year-old big city bike messenger kid's bag. Thanks for the link!

Girls, I think as long as we toss the "boys" a line like, "I want one that's not too big for my hands," or "I've held a few, but haven't found one that feels right," they'll let us keep talking about girly bags without complaining too much.
Here's another camera bag I'm considering. Terribly pricey, but in the name of fashion & functionality, it's got my attention:

Donna Downey is sold out of her fall line. I'll need to check back in the spring. (she responded to an email in like 30 seconds).
Throw in a few more techie lens thoughts, and they'll get over the bags.
I have a Canon 18-55 lens for my Rebel. I have a Quantarry 55-200, as well. It's my first "big girl" camera and I'm just getting used to it. My husband is the photography guru - I still tend to fall back on "auto everything"

Vicki, we must have done the same search for "cute camera bags."
I saw the shootsac, too and after I finished giggling at the spelling (
) I did think about it. They have some cute covers.
I will probably end up with an 80-200 lens and a Crumpler bag. They are not the most hideous bag and seem to hold everything at once (fiters, memory cards, etc.) and seem to travel well. My friend has the "6 Million Dollar Home" bag and likes it. Their website is ridiculous though.
I'm hoping the bag is like the lens, and I'll know a good one when I see it.

That Crumpler site is a hoot; I had my volume on and had to close it out before I got fired. They look like nice bags, though.
This is what I have now.

Not sure if I have the 6 or 7. Not fashionable, but really practical and comfortable. The camera "stuff" (body, 2 lenses, flash, charger, xtra cards/batteries, small manual) all fit on the bottom. The top holds light jacket, wallet, maps, etc; and the side pockets hold water.
I used this on our recent trip to the Med (sans the wallet).
I've also got the small Tamrac Sling; but not as happy with it. My husband has the large sling and loves it.
