Only ever saw one. Actually my mom found it and saved it to show us. It was little and less than 2 inches long and she said it was nothing compared to the Texas ones she remembered from Fort Hood.

Thank you everyone for weighing in here.

So the next question is -- does this lavender thing work, is it a waste of $12 or is it $12 well spent if it makes me feel better?

Hubby had one in his swim suit one morning when he went to put it on! Lucky for both of us he shook it out before he put it on. He killed it and brought it up for everyone to see! YUCK!

I have it on good authority that scorpions don’t hide in flip flops. But Flip Flop – I’d shake out your flip flops before putting them on. You’ll be fine. You and Gromit will be full of Painkillers and Bushwackers and won’t even give it a second thought.

Is the Bushwacker the one that is creamy & with nutmeg? Or am I confused? Don't answer that.

I need to be sure I am ordering the right drink!

Oooohhh Flip Flop thank goodness Jorge isn't on the forum right now - you just left yourself wide open

A Painkiller is the drink that has fresh nutmeg and a Bushwacker has the chocolate in it (and I think 7 other types of alcohol - Kaluluha etc)

Pia

ps: can't wait to see your replies from the guy's

OH NO. Didn't mean that.

Painkiller is more fruity? You'd think I'd remember as Gromit and I paid for about 18 at Miss Lucy's a couple of years ago.

I think its the one w/ chocolate and kahlua I am after.

Gromit -
Are you that worried about the scorpions? Seriously? I live in GA, and we have two or three kinds of scorpions that live in this state. I've haven't seen one in nine years. I wouldn't worry about it, seriously. I think more realistic worries when vacationing in St. John are car wrecks (as seen this week firsthand by a forum member) or touching fire coral or those prickly-anenome guys (very scientific description) while snorkeling.

There are all kinds of bugs down there, but that's what makes it interesting. I see something new every trip. I once saw a nasty 6-8 inch long millipede in St. Martin. I've heard those bite and leave a nasty welt. Seeing it from a safe distance of 3 feet was cool though.

Have a good trip... just shake out the duvet before you get into bed

Yup, we found two scorpions last year in Cielo Vista. They were small and seemed to be confined to the bathroom. We told the owners and they said they do exterminate for bugs.

Just goes to show you how WASTED Flip Flop was at Miss Lucy's-- those were RUM PUNCHES sistah.

The Painkillers have the cream of coconut and the nutmeg.

Bushwackers have the vodka and the chocolate.

Tarantulas!!!!!!

Post by snorkelqueen »

Excuse my French - but HOLY CRAP! If I see a tarantula I will have a heart attack - PERIOD! All this talk has me totally freaked out....no more happily jumping into bed with nary a care in the world - just happy to be in paradise. (There's not enough Cuzan Run on island to cure my fear of spiders......)

It's these damn scorpions in the bed that are freaking me out!
