Oh, they are so much harder to deal with at our age. I always require several naps to help with the cure. Some good junk food, dozing on the beach, aspirin, pina colada or a lime and coconut and you'll be all set. Ooops, I mean they'll be all set (of course not you ... lol). Ali~

Ron.....Of course you are absolutly correct, BUT as I said in my opening, we are failed humans, and sometimes make mistakes, and I'm a planner, and I'm covering all my bases. :D

That being said, I will be doing 90% of the driving, so I have to be a good little girl.

get up and put on sunglasses and a baseball cap

Got to JJ's- order a glass of water, a diet coke, and a breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon.

Works every time.

Everyone who said a hangover is all about dehydration is right. Alcohol supresses a hormone in the body called Anti Diuretic Hormone or ADH. Ever wonder why you "pee" so much more than you actually drink? Thats why. So, the main thing is rehydration. If you wake up thirsty during the night, drink fluids. Gatorade is definitely good to replace salt etc. Definitely Motrin for the hangover. Tylenol only adds insult to the liver. Some greasy food followed by a nap doesn't hurt either  .

I think you have to go have a double shot bloody mary and 4 pints of water. Then you wil be fine.

Xisland has the right idea. Add some chorizo and salsa. A bowl of menudo, the soup not the group, definitely helps.

OK.....I think some of you might be getting loaded as we speak!

I've never heard of Anti Diuretic Hormone and I go to one of those "Suzanne Sommers" type hormone doctors. (BTW, they work wonders) Bioidentical is what they are called and I am hooked. That and fish oil. I'm digressing, so sorry.

But I will look into ADH. My youngest daughter is ADHD, but she doesn't drink. Thank God!!!!!!!

So it sounds like rehydration with something like Gatorade, Advil for brain swelling, and minerals for whatever Rick said, may be a winning combination.

Why do we do this to ourselves?? It must be so fun!!

ADH is not one of those hormones that you can directly replace nor is it a "female hormone", so thats probably why you haven't heard of it. It's way more complex than we need to be bothered by on this forum.

I really haven't had any head pounders in a long time, but I have been there in my younger days and maybe a few times in my older days  .

I am another one that agrees with the Chaser Plus!! It really does work - as long as you take it according to the directions! I have a friend who, after his first child, obviously had no tolerance and as some of you with children may know, its no fun to wake up for that morning feeding with a headache - he would buy this stuff online by the case so he would have it for those special occasions and not have to worry the next morning.

Xislandgirl stole our idea! :D

Seriously, though - we *always* go to JJs when we are hungover. The breakfast burrito works wonders! Trust me.

Okay...(and I'm hesitant to expose the nerd in me)...ADH CAN be replaced/supplemented directly. Named vasopressin or DDAVP (desmopressin is the generic), it can be administered through nasal spray, tablet, or injection. Never had to use it personally, but my youngest daughter does.

Not sure how it'd work for hangovers, however!

My regimen is water before bed, rum after...and I'm good as gold.

48 hours and we'll be on our way!

Dave.

Try to remember to take a few Advil, multi-vitamins and lots of water before going to bed. I have a giant thermal mug that i take everywhere (i'm from AZ so i drink gallons of water daily) and before i go to sleep fill it with ice and water. Sometimes crush up a few Altoids in the water, thats tastey too.

When you wake up, try iced coffee (with Cruzan Rum Cream, its delicious) and put it in a blender and it puts Starbucks to shame. Then, eat the hottest, most spicey food you can find, and it works!
