Thank you so much for the wonderful reports! I thoroughly enjoyed every one of them and am sad to see it end. You’ve made me really want to visit Scott Beach. Too bad (for us but good for the guests at Caneel) it’s not open to the public.
We are thinking about staying on the Cruz Bay side for a week and on the Coral Bay side for another week next year although we’ve never switched villas during a single trip so aren’t sure if we really want to do that. I believe the villas you stayed at on this trip were both rented by Vacation Vistas, am I right? Do you think, coordination-wise, it’s easier to rent them from one agency rather than two different agencies? I’d rather not have to pack twice while on the island but there are so many villas with different views we’d like to try. Did you find switching villas worthwhile for you and John?

Thank you. Your reports have been a delight. Almost felt I was there. I typically only visit this site once a week or sometimes less - I have been visiting every day just to read your reports. As I mentioned before, I have had to ban my husband from reading your reports, for fear that he will expect me to cook while on vacation!

trip report

Thanks everybody!
Pickle, we absolutely find it worth it to switch villas. It takes us less than 15 minutes to pack up, and the same amount of time to unpack. We spend so much time at the villa, it is really worth it to us to switch up the views. We love sitting out on the deck and just watching whatever there is to see.
Both villas we rented were from Vacation Vistas, yes. Lisa is really nice and she went out of her way to let us stay longer at Cinnamon Tarn while Argonauta was being cleaned. She also offered to let us stay at Argonauta later but we wanted to pack up and get to Caneel (not that that plan worked out, but oh well).
I think a week in Coral Bay then a week on the other side would be perfect. We may try that next trip.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
