Honest mistake
First off, the thread was somehow on the list when I posted. I in no way dug it up, I just simply went through the most recent as I always do and thought it was relevant. Second, Sorry to all for posting about our villa. I did not realize that you had to be a paid advertiser on this site to do that. It will not happen again. I just felt I was following suit. Please understand that our villa is owned operated without a villa management company by people who came to st john as 20 year olds, worked their butts off for 6 years to save for down payment in order to one day have the chance live here without paying rent. 4 years later, we continue to work hard to compete with the massive advertising budgets of the villa management companies who repeatedly attempt to sabotage our business. Thank you to all of you who have stayed with us and those of you who have posted. I simply wish that we could share our guests book objectively somehow to prove that I am not blowing smoke up my own ... Enjoy your club
Wonderlost-- I think that if you had been up front about the fact that you were the owner (full disclosure) no one would have called you out.
Those are the rules of the forum and everyone is held to them. Also it is simply unfair to the advertisers who pay good money to support this forum.
There are lots of folks who are on this forum who own busineses (stores, villa co's, car rental co's and charter sservice) and make a GENUINE effort to engage people and answer questions people have. They even join us for on island gatehrings.
While we can all appreciate your personal journey and hardships (and ultimate success) regarding your property I would venture to guess that your attitude in your post will not win you any new business.
IF however, you want to participate and be helpful to folks on a more regular basis then I think you will find that many of us would say, "Hey, doesn't Wonderlost have a villa that might fit that description?" and we wil gladly send them your way.
This board is welcoming and friendly and open to anyone willing to play nice and follow the rules. By no means is it an exclusive "club"
If you want to join in with genuine advice and assistance we welcome that. But we don't tolerate astroturfing. Period.

Sorry for the misunderstanding but nobody likes to be falsely accused. I have now read the rules, and understand my mistake, but honestly it did not even cross my mind that rules would apply or that advertising was part of the postings. Did everyone read the rules first?? It seems that everyone tags a villa repeatedly, so... I assumed that was the norm. I have made attempts to invite forumites to events to no avail. Again Sorry

Hey wonderlost: sorry if it seemed like I came down hard on you. Didn't mean to.
I'll say again for the record that we really enjoyed our stay in Starlit Escape, and the owners were extremely accomodating and made sure that we had everything we needed. I wish I was out on that happy hour tower right now!
I've seen both cheers and jeers on this board for villa owners and management firms. Great service will hopefully be rewarded on this forum, so let's all keep posting those villa reviews!
