What to do with your gear

stjchica, that's horrible. Do you recall what cases you used? I bought Dandycases for our iphones, as I want to use them as the underwater camera. Yes, some may think I'm crazy, but I really don't want to lug other camera's with me. We leave in 10 days, so not sure I'd even have enough time to buy one and figure it out at this point.

We usually use a water proof wallet with cards and a little cash..and the keys of course..and either clip it on our suits or I wiggle it around my wrist..its tight and wont come off...I think we got it at Wally for about 5 bucks...its actually a cell phone case..works great...unless you do like hubby did on our last trip...we were snorkeling with the McKibbens and he forgot to snap it to his suit...we swam for about an hr and he stopped and asked me if I had it..I said no...and about had heart failure...it was out first full day there and we had a good bit of cash in it..he swam to shore really quick...and there were 2 older couples on the beach...one of the ladies saw it and swam out to get it...they checked the ID and realized it was us...they waited for us and returned it...I offered them some cash but they wouldnt take it...Later we saw them at Skinny's and bought them a round of drinks...moral of the story...be sure to clip it on something..and it should be fine...the good camera we usually leave where we are staying and hide it unless we are just out for pictures..hope this helps...

Good stuff......Similar to what happened to my wife and me on our honeymoon almost 10 years ago (damn that was fast). To address this exact topic, we had a dive box that we carried our key/cash/cc, etc. We stopped at one of the overlooks to take a picture and my wife took the box off from around her neck and put it on the jeep for the picture. We were 3/4 of the way on the walk to Leinster when we finally realized that we didn't have it. We filed a police report in the event someone turned it in there. By the time we got back to the Westin, we had a message on our room. The woman who found it saw that we had a Westin key in there and went to the Westin and dropped it off for us.

Never found out who it was - I still owe them a round of drinks at Skinny's! Hopefully cosmic good will came around to her and paid her back 3x.
