Awwww! Now I'm even HAPPIER for Nikkiki's win! I too remember when your husband passed away - my heart was in my throat. Now my heart leaps for joy that you're readying your STJ wardrobe and taking this trip.
God bless you!

Somehow, someway that can only be STJ Karma. Enjoy and embrace his memory and know that you will all feel his presence. TY for sharing how fleeting life can be...and to never take for granted how blessed we are to have such a special place in our hearts.

Wow! What great news! I wouldn't be suprised if your husband had a hand in the win. As Sue said I am sure our loved ones would want us all to keep our place of peace and tranquility in our lives. You and your daughter can share some happy memories and create some new ones together. I hope you both have an amazing and healing time!

ifloat I'm so happy you're going back.
Last week was our first trip after losing DH to cancer last year. He pushed himself so hard to go with us last year, and passed away just a few weeks later. (Of course we thought we had more time.)
Last week's trip was wonderful for us, yet very emotional too as you can probably imagine. We did a little family memorial service for him at the tip of Ram Head - shared some stories, left some flowers, scattered some ashes. It was so fitting for him and for us. I'm shedding tears for both you and me right now, and the tears are sad for what we've lost but also grateful for all the memories we have and are yet to make.
You are in my thoughts.

chicagoans, my heart is breaking for you. I'm so touched to see that you had the courage to go back, to make it meaningful, to make new memories. You're in my thoughts, too.

Oh my, I had no idea you lost your husband, chicagoans. It's a club none of us want to join. Your memorial sounds beautiful. More tears going on right now for you and I both. I'm glad your husband got to go back one more time.

ifloat and chicagoans,
I remember following both of your journeys of sorrow. It puts in perspective how valuable our short time on earth is. You both are so strong and such good examples to us all.
ifloat have a great time with your daughter. I look forward to your review.
Chicagoan so glad you were able to make it back and what a wonderful tribute to your husband.
