I've never worried too much about my stuff on the beach. Should I?

This is a great thread.

I have recently purchased a polar bear cooler and pac safe backpack locking system as they both get positive reviews on this board.

It barely qualifies as "gear", but once we are on island, the first empty milk jug gets filled with water and left in the back of the car. You can also splurge and buy a gallon of water on arrival. It's perfect for washing the sand off your feet when you leave the beach, and will be luxuriantly hot after all day in a closed car.

All the best,

Would someone mind posting a pic or putting a link up to the type of neoprene sock you are talking about? There are so many!

Also, I love having my fish ID book along. Ned Deloach travel edition is nice. :)

I been reading these posts, and am amazed at how complicated it can be to have the RIGHT gear for visiting St. John. I live on island, am an avid snorkeler, and didn't know I needed all this stuff. Keep it simple folks.
