Last trip- 2/21-2/28/13
Best moment- getting offered a job as a physical therapist by St John Physical Therapy ( and accepting it) , also seeing my husband cross the finish line of 8 Tuff Miles in 97 minutes after months of training in the flat state of Florida! Last but not least seeing Inner Visions with Steve, Tracy from Wi and others.
No pictures because I am a doofus about how to do it!!
PS I leave in Seven days to begin life - Augie has started blog - will publish soon for those who care to follow! :D

What a fun thread! Hard to pick just a few though...here are some of my favorites:

Best evening relaxing on a patio: the night my now husband and I got engaged, sitting out on our Grande Bay balcony listening to music and discussing what we wanted in our upcoming wedding. Of course, that is where the idea of getting married on STJ was born. It's rare to have a moment when all feels right and you just know it'll will work out perfectly :D

Best time at the Beach Bar: fast forward two days before our wedding and many of our closest friends and family members are gathered at the Beach Bar to celebrate the upcoming weekend. It just happened to be open mic night, so my very talented singer/songer writer friend got up and performed a few songs. Nothing better than seeing the people close to you having a great time and completely relaxed (still need to find a way to get some St John brewers island mango back up to my dad...).

Best dinner: this one was a no brainer- our reception dinner at Ocean Grill. From the food, service, drinks...the staff was so amazing. I didn't get to taste any, but my family raved about how yummy the passed apps were. They created such a fun and inviting atmosphere. We actually had to ask our DJ to tone down the music selection so our guests would stop dancing and sit down for dinner!

Best all day outing: Dingy day! Having lunch floating near Cinnamon and watching all the little sea turtle heads curiously pop out of the water around us- awesome! Having the freedom to stop in for a quick snorkel at any of the N. Shore beaches- even more awesome :) I thought doing a full day dinghy rental might be too long, but honestly, the time passed so quickly we wouldn't have minded keeping it a little longer. The only thing I would have changed was to either apply a lot more sunscreen or wear a rash gaurd all day- my back was crispy!

Thanks for letting me go to my happy place on a Friday afternoon- just what I needed. Have a fabulous trip!

A few of the best moments:

September 2005
My first view of Trunk Bay from the overlook as a day-tripper. I suddenly knew this was a very special place. The obsession with STJ started on this day at this moment!

I decided to walk from Little Lameshur to the Petroglyphs and took the spur to the Reef Bay Great House. I had not really heard much about it, but it was amazing. It must have been a beautiful place in its day. I really wish the VINP staff would work to preserve/restore this building.

An amazing and unexpected view from the Johnny Horn Trail. I love to hike and to stumble upon a view like this is the best kind of reward.

Last year, my daughter joined us for a few days - her first trip to the island - She immediately 'got it'...she stopped and wrote a message to her grandparents in the sand because she knew her grandfather would be watching the SpiceCam (Thanks Ruth and Ron!) to make sure she got to the island OK...

On our first trip we decided to go to Maho to watch the sunset...the noseeums were awful, but we were determined to stay for sunset so we just kept walking up and down the beach to keep the bugs off while we waited...It was definitely worth the wait...

There are a hundred more 'best' moments, but these were ones that came to mind for me immediately after reading this post. 21 days and counting...

Just got back a little over a week ago. Still living vicariously through my own pictures. :)

An overlooked bar, is the bar inside Asolare. Especially with Kim tending it. Spent an evening there sampling and discussing different aged rums from around the caribbean. Very neat to try some very nicely aged rums, as I'm scotch drinker usually, but some of these rums were outstanding. The view from the balcony at Asolare is also an outstanding place to enjoy sunset. I'd say as good as the bar view at ZoZo's, and probably easier to make a reservation.

Beach/Snorkeling highlight, was going to Salomon/Honeymoon for the first time. Beach was pretty nice, but the snorkeling was surprisingly good! Shallow reef, but lots of interesting sea life. Saw a resting nurse shark, a spotted moray eel peeking out of a coral head, and nice big spotted eagle ray. Certainly a lot more here than at many other north shore beaches ( excepting Waterlemon ).

Another favorite snorkel is Salt Pond, out around the rocks. Lots of turtles on the way out, and lots of interesting channels to explore in the rock.

A quieter North Shore beach scene was to hike down to Denis Bay from the Peace Hill parking lot. Only a handful of other people ( 3 actually ), and lots of shade without a lot of bugs as it gets a good breeze from the east, at least on the day we went.

Loved the video of the eagle ray. This past January, we watched an eagle ray jump clear out of the water at Solomon. It was amazing.... about 3 jumps out of the water. I'd never seen anything like it before and didn't even realize they engaged in behaviors like that. It was fabulous!!
