At risk of soundling like a lush.............. I like to arrive at the RH ferry and have my 1st painkiller or bushwacker at the bar in the terminal, and wait for the ferry! This is the official 'start' of my vacation.

For us, it's making it to the jeep rental before they close.

We also enjoy the "we're here beer!" at the RH ferry ( and baggage claim too if we check! ).

The short cab ride and more time on the water are the pluses for the CA ferry. We were able to do it one time going to STJ. We get it now and then going to STT.

The cost is a wash.

The reilability, frequency, schedule and the terminal are all pluses for the RH ferry.

We generally wind up on the RH ferry, but always look for opprtunities to use the CA ferry.
