American Airlines Miami
Many residents use this MIA-STT connection and I have been the "pick me up at the airport" person a lot for the late flight over the years and will comment that the last flight, '8:10' - arrival is commonly really late - [hours late] - today it landed at 8:17 but if you check it on a daily basis on a site like www.flightstats.com you can see some serious delays are not uncommon.
I don't think you would miss the last ferry to STJ but if someone is meeting you they should use a good website for real time info.

lazylane,
AA changed our departure flight times from both legs back to Baltimore making a really long layover in Miami & earlier departure from St. Thomas on the return flight . Then AA changed our arrival into St. Thomas getting us there at 1:40p.m. & changed our departure to Miami . If your flying AA keep an eye on your flights for change . As long as they don't put us on the VERY early departure flight from St. Thomas everything should work out okay getting us to ST. Thomas in Sept. & back to Baltimore in Oct.

Can anyone tell me which MIA concourse AA uses for domestic arrivals and which they would depart from for STT?
We have a 55 min connection and I'd like to get a handle on the challenge.
WOW...I was checking out the flightstats.com site that Exit Zero posted and found it all there. Very Cool site!
We have to get from one end of D to the other. Shouldn't be too tough at all. Thanks EZ

A train...perfect! Sounds like I might have enough time to snag some eats & drinks for the STT leg.Randy in MD wrote:Arrivals and departures on AA in MIA usually happen in Terminal D, with occasional forays into Terminal E.
There's now a train that runs the length of Terminal D so it's not as time-consuming as it used to be going from one end to the other...
Thanks Randy

We usually fly AA on our March trips to STJ. I choose to stop in MIA because it's less likely to have weather delays that time of year. But they have changed our schedule on us; last year we didn't arrive on STJ until 3:30 - 4 pm. When I booked it, the arrival time was 1:30 pm, much more convenient for getting to CBC.

A friendly reminder that AA is in bankruptcy. I read this article today about large brands predicted to disappear this year. Not always accurate in predictions, but worth considering when buying a ticket far in advance.
