Packing the cooler the day before....

Does anyone ever take a bigger cooler? On our way home we saw many of them on the checked bag scanners where you drop your luggage after going through customs? I'm curious if how larger coolers fair during travel and how do you secure them properly? My husband hates carry-on luggage and would much rather just buy the food when we arrive but i'm the more practical one.

I hear ya on the husband carry-on issue....

We have a 48 can Polar Bear that I have checked several times. It is secured with the zipper.

I have seen many of those igloo plastic coolers that are secured with duct tape. I can't believe TSA would take the time to retape that if they openned it.

I love my polar bear cooler! We always stuff if FULL and then freeze the entire cooler for a few days prior to travel. The last time I really put it to the test and brought a pound of butter!! Still frozen after 36 hours!
