Tell me the difference between May and Feb trips

I've visited in both early February and late May. May seemed much hotter (obviously 
) and much more humid. Every day was clear when I went in May and we had numerous showers when I went in February. It definitely could have been a fluke though. That being said, I would prefer February over May because it's nice to escape the cold weather and snow up here in New England. I'm heading back for my third time this Christmas, so I'm curious to see what the weather will be then.
