We left STT Monday April 9th and the customs line was an hour plus wait. Daphne and 5 other porters were helping families through to a special line. They have red ball caps and light grey shirts with their name and "Porter". They will take your luggage, passports, boarding passes and put a $20 bill with the paperwork. This crew is easy to find when you hit the sidewalk.

Don't count on a porter if it is a busy Saturday

Post by Beachboy »

On Saturday the airport can be so busy and so backed up that getting a porter can be next to impossible. One Saturday it took us more than a half hour to find one that was available and that was only because I know the system and know where to find one.
We had a family come over to us while we were having the porter load our luggage and the woman was in tears as they were going to miss their flight. We had our porter help them as well, as they would never have made their flight otherwise.

Yes, it is very good idea to call ahead on a Saturday or Sunday.
