We like Banana Deck too. Try the Iguana Grill across from Woody's. This was our firsty this past trip. Great seating to acclimate back to the St. John vibe.

Wow, what great choices! For some reason, I'm leaning toward Banana Deck or Rhumblines, though High Tide must be great too, with all the "thumbs up" reviews. We've never eaten at any of these places.

For some reason, even though everything on STJ is lovely and low-key, we usually don't spend too much time in Cruz Bay (we like to stay on one of the ridges overlooking Coral Bay; typically either on Bordeaux Mountain or Ajax Peak. Can't get over those incredible 20 mile views!). A few years ago, when we were on island for two weeks, we only went into Cruz Bay once, and I was desperate to get away from there 'cuz it just seemed too crowded and busy!

Anyway, thanks a bunch for the recommendations!

Some of our other favorite places to eat out include Zozo's (as I mentioned earlier); Equator at Caneel (I just love the open air, elevated view of twilight and sparkling lights on STT, if you get there for an early dinner); Sweet Plantains in Coral Bay. For some reason, Asolare kind of leaves me with a "meh" response, though it also has a terrific view. We tend to enjoy getting back to our villa in the early part of late-afternoon, taking a dip in the pool, sipping on a punch or two, slow down with the sunset, and cooking our dinner and just enjoy the villa. We probably do that at least half the nights we spend on island.

What a terrific place!
