Thanks for the info. and links!
From reading the Crime Stoppers link on St.Thomas and St.Croix it looks like my hometown of Baltimore City, which is not a good thing.

We have everything done for the trip and are looking forward to a safe and relaxing trip.

I normally bring my door jam alarms. They are very loud and will likely scare them away. If not, it will wake us up and alert us to the situation. The best part, for me, is that I am able to sleep.

I hope you have a great vacation and you are able to relax and enjoy beautiful St. John. I understand where you are coming from and, in my opinion, you should take the precautions that you need take to feel at ease.

I don't have the statistics, just travel every year to STJ. You seem like a intelligent man with all of the right qualifications to protect his family. Use all normal safety precautions, lock valuables up when not around, be aware of your surrondings and you should do fine. Of all the trips down we never felt in danger. You will enjoy yourselves...

Thanks for all of the info., I was just trying to get a feel with whats happening on the island. We are now moving on to more important things, like whats the best rum, sea kayak rentals, best lunch spots, etc.

Thanks again for all of your replys!!!
