Enjoyed your trip reports a lot! :)

I have to say as a connoisseur of painkillers, my all time favorite one is at the Soggy Dollar Bar, with Foxy's Taboo and Woody's a close second and third. Man, I love painkillers!!!

Thanks for some really wonderful reports, Ron! I really enjoyed reading them and experiencing it through your eyes. Being a fellow over researcher myself, it's given me a lot of confidence that I'll get to the island and not immediately be lost, confused, etc.

Thanks again!

Excellent serial, it got me ready for our trip in two weeks.

How was your villa? Frankly, it did not show very well in the pictures. Would you stay there again?

Cheers, RickG

Thanks for all the effort you put into your wonderful trip reports. I really enjoyed them and the pics too!

One thing...you MUST get back to STJ to visit Hawksnest. My daughter and I daydream about it often. It's our very favorite beach! We also love White Bay and Honeymoon but Hawksnest just does it for us!

One more thing...We are also fans of the Soggy Dollar Pain Killer. This is where my daughter discovered she liked rum. Just YUM!

trip reports

Post by papabou »

ron,

you certainly have come a long way for a guy who joined this board 12/31/06 with an inquiry about a place to stay for the time period fitting your plane tickets. best series i've read and viewed in a while. should be required reading for the first timer!

all of us who have been fortunate enough to have had multiple trips know the the ways of the 1st timer, because we were one once. we all tried to do too much; now, to me stj has become like romance, the enjoyment should be slow and easy with your eyes wide open to take in all the beauty.

you endured some of the worse weather i've heard of in a while, yet you still obviously had a wonderful time. i hate to do this too you, but can you even imagine what it would be like if the only rain during your week was at night and each evening, you saw the sun set in the west by slowing sinking into the ocean or slipping behind radiant pink clouds on the horizon against a blue sky? the waters of maho and francis were crystal clear and the suface like glass? well, that is the stj some of us have had the privilege of enjoying. you deserve that to be your next trip, so start planning, stj is waiting for another of her worshippers. your reward awaits your return.

bravo, sir ron!

I agree, Rick. It was hard to get decent pictures. I could have used a wide angle lens. Moonsong is not a luxury villa, but we didn't expect one when we made our decision. Papabou had visited Moonsong not too long ago and he gave me a good description of what we were getting. It's clean, comfortable and well maintained, and it is in a nice location. Are there better locations and nicer villas, yeah, but we were happy.

Would we stay there again? Yes. If the circumstances were the same. We had a budget to stick to and we wanted someplace where the girls could get away from the adults and the lower level at Moonsong worked out great. Our next trip will probably be just Amy and me so we would probably look at something smaller to zave money, but ya never know!

Super job, Ron; loved each and every report. I just knew each one was going to be full to the brim with wonderful descriptions of what was going on. Three days from now I shall raise a Painkiller in a toast to you!

Welcome! For those of you who lasted through all of my marathon reports, John and his wife are the couple that Amy and I met at Morgan's for dinner on Friday night. I met John on another forum  .

We really enjoyed our evening with you two, to. Amy was a bit skeptical about meeting someone who we new nothing about, but she came around quickly!
