Moonrise at Rams head.

Moonrise (and a full moon) is 45 minutes after sunset on May 17. Might have to get it done this time. It rained last time we were there with this opportunity.

Ok Bigcheeze..my ticker is on your tickers tail! I have a few things that I am hoping to get to on this trip. If not, I may just have to book another trip!

1) Snorkel Tektite, Mary's Creek, Henley Cay, find that Cessna at Little Cinnamon..pathetic that I haven't found it yet, lol!

2) Take an off island trip to Jost Van Dyke. Everytime I get to St. John I never want to leave. Who am I kidding..I probably won't leave this trip either..

3)Hike Ram's Head early morning. Would like to do the Reef Bay Hike but don't think I will make it back up. Although I read that there is an alternative route back along the shore and up a few smaller hills??? Not sure.

4) Have dinner at Caneel Bay. I really enjoy a good meal but have avoided some of the upscale restaurants because I just don't want to dress up!

5) Have some portraits taken on the island by a professional photographer.

6)Dinghy Day! Want to see what Peter Bay is all about..and Caneel's Beaches, even if just from the Dinghy. There are so many places along the shore that can not be accessed or seen from land.

That's a start..I'm sure there's more!

DO IT! A small group of us did this last March (me, my husband, BillVT, Mrs. BillVT and some of their friends) and although the moon was obstructed by clouds when it first rose, it was still a fun hike. By the time we got back to the Salt Pond area, the moon was reflecting off of the pond, and it was nearly bright enough to walk without headlamps.
Here we are at sunset...

Lunch or brunch at Miss Lucy's is on our list for the next trip.

Crossed off Vies, Sloop Jones and Ram Head last trip.

I think everyone should make an artistic contribution at Drunk Bay. For the really adventurous, do the Ram Head trail on a full moon night. Ok, at least get up and do it before the day gets too hot. Do that little two mile hike at noon and you'll feel like Frodo climbing up Mt.Doom. (By the way, I was always told that it's Ram Head, not Ram's Head. Maybe Hugo,or Exit Zero could clarify?)
Also, if you're not toting young ones with you, don't just go to Skinny's and have a burger. Sit at the bar, spend a couple of hours, talk to the locals, ex-pats and West Indians. Last trip I spent an hour talking to a guy about his bee-keeping.Throw some horseshoes. Take good care of your bartender! Definitely do the same thing at Shipwreck Landing's bar. Spend a long evening there when they have music playing. Maybe even get up and share a dance with your significant other. Go to Sputnick's on "roti" night. Try to catch Inner Visions anywhere that they might be playing. Try MJ's Ponzu Tuna on Fridays at Aqua Bistro after again spending Friday afternoon at their wonderful seaside bar. Get up early, catch a sunrise.

We went to Little Lamesure last trip for the first time and really enjoyed it. We made an east end day of it. Vie's Beach,lunch at The Toursit Trap then Little Lamesure. Fun day!

Wow...Thanks for making me feel I wasn't the only to have alot of "TODO" things.(Even after 14+ visits to STJ)

Guess I'll have to keep coming down to get them all off the List.

It's funny...people ask me why I'm going to the same place each Spring Break...I ask them why they go to Florida each year ?...and I'm glad they keep going to Florida

We're heading down for only our 6th trip in the fall. But there are so many things we have yet to enjoy. That's the joy of St. John! We indulge in all our favorites, yet we still manage to try new things when we're there. God willing, we'll keep trying new things for many more years to come.

Rent or even buy a unit at Grande Bay to insure its success and more places like it.
