Personally, I don't think we need separate forums, I just think the people who are afraid to post about STX and STT need to post more. That's the problem... people don't post their reports on the other islands often enough. It's not the "club's" fault there are more posts about STJ, it's the fault of the people who don't post about their experiences on the other islands. I rarely read trip reports any more unless they ARE about the other islands. I vote for keeping one forum and encouraging people to post about the other islands more frequently.

I am always in favor of free speech. So I vote for three forums.
What would the advantage be? Maybe more specialized insight on one particular island and not haveing the information spread out so much....Al

I like the USVI forum. The way it is. It {the topics} is quite random.

The best addition has been the OT portion. Which technically is like what you propose. But the Relo Forum is kind of slow, no?

How about a "Cruz Bay" forum, Coral Bay, South Shore vs North Shore, Dolphin Market vs Starfish, etc?

Of course, less posting by some might lead to more posting by others.

The world has managed to get along without my daily opinions on every topic. {Although I do not know how.}

I voted "no" earlier because I personally like the feel of all the U.S. Virgin Islands connected here in one forum. But the reality is this is essentially a St. John forum and I can see why some folks are rather discouraged to post about St. Thomas or St. Croix here. If separate forums would encourage more posts on each island, it might not be a bad idea to split (looks like I'm changing my vote to "yes").

Some questions can be associated with more than one island, so are some trip reports. I think we can all be nice to those wherever they are posted. In the end, Anthony might take good care of those posts just like he has been with all the current forums (well, that means more work for you, Anthony  .)

If the split happens, it would definitely be nice to be able to see "Latest Forum Posts" from all the forums. It may need room for more than 10 listings, though... or else each new post may get pushed out quickly – assuming and hoping a boost on each forum.

Interesting where this is going. It has been a long time since I asked this question, but this is definitely the most positive things have seemed about a forum for each island. Keep voting, keep the comments coming, and I'll convene the Board of Directors for a decision next week...

PS - who wants to be on the board? :)

Anyway - even if we tried it and it stunk up the joint, it is not like it isn't reversible...

Thanks everyone -

I voted yes because if I wanted to go to one of the other island it would be easier to find things I was looking for. I can still watch all 3 to see if I can help out and see whats going on unless we have to stay on one only :D

Well, if breaking it up means more posts about the other islands, I guess I'm all for it. I will be spending a little time on STT in May because it always seems we make a bee line right to STJ and I've never really seen much of St. Thomas. I think it's a beautiful island with a lot to offer, so I'm going to find out what it's all about! :D St. Croix will be next!

So post people, post! Tell me about the other islands! :D

From a business standpoint, if I were Anthony, I would have created the additional forums a long time ago. There's no doubt that this forum is in a league of its own when it comes to up to date and useful information regarding STJ, and this information is dispensed in a kind and generous manner rarely seen on the Internet.

But if you're looking for information about STT or STX this is about the last place one would want to come to. The information just isn't here and the regular posters either don't care or don't have the expertise necessary for the few STT/STX questions asked here. And it appears that many of the folks that do have the answers don't frequent this forum very much anymore because they've come to the conclusion there's just no point.

So to me the answer is simple. Create the forums and give the STT and STX lovers/experts a place to dispense their wisdom. If the new forums attract even half as many regular posters with the same kind of knowledge about those islands that currently post here about STJ then they too will rise to the top and this place will finally live up to it's name.

I vote yes to three forums. When we were stopping in St Croix it was hard to find very much information on it.

Given all of the information about how the "division" would look, I see absolutely no reason why you shouldn't split up the islands on this forum.

Give it a whirl and, if it's a huge fail down the road, no big deal reverting back.

What is this 'club' you speak of?
Anthony, I think whatever brings more business and more hits on the site, the best.
You ROCK!!! I would not have as many island buds if it was not for this site. I love having so many people all over the country that love the VI's and the BVI's and even just the caribbean as much as me.......:)
