Fun!

Do you have a picture from the building's website so we can see what it will look like?

Hi JMQ ... Yes the round/polygon design is hurricane resistant because the wind goes around the structure, you can check out Deltecs website for it's stats on homes that have survived hurricanes, stop by for a glass of wine when your on island it would be nice to see you again and show you our site!!

Yes we will have a panoramic view through a rounded wall of 5 sliding glass doors in the great room and yes the round design definitely lets you take advantage of every inch of sq ft. Each paneled wall is 8 ft long and the ceilings are 10 feet high.
Our plans meet Dade County code for hurricanes.

You can make your house as deluxe as your budget allows, I plan on giving it an island feel with rock wall wainscoting around the outside of both buildings, stone supports, walls, floor trim and some interior stonework. We have found a wonderful Haitian man who is expert at cutting the blue bitch and doing walls.

Stu and Mike are great, they are childhood friends from Jamestown RI and Stu's father owns Skyway Villa and Starstruck Villa.

Great for you! Can I be just a little jealous?
Do you need a care taker to be in the home you are not presently occupying???? :?:

I think I am going to do that on the blog, I don't want Anthony to get upset with me!

I don't think that would happen - you are not offering a free weeks stay etc like the previous forumite who was self promoting - I think it would be fun.

With a nice Donald Schnell sign " Not For Rent" would be a great name. Your blog is excellent - Thanks for taking the effort to entertain us.

Good call on nixing the spiral staircase. When I was a kid growing up in the 80s I thought they were the coolest thing ever but as an adult I have found that they are challenging if, say, you're carrying a laundry basket, luggage, or a child.

I can't believe you got all of your doors for $450! We just bought doors so we can finish our basement and they were $1500 on sale! Just for the basement!

I guess it is Anthony's call to have a contest

Exit... I think that is a great name :) Donald Schnell sign of course :)

With some of the drinkers in my family and friends, spiral stairs would have just been an obstacle course in sobriety, no sense in breaking anyones legs falling down the hole :)

I know about the doors, I was the only one that bid on them!!!!

Just made a new post on the blog, I have had 1100 hits in two days, who would have thought

Great job on the blog, Betty.

And Exit Zero has to be one of my favorite posters. Even though I represent much of what he despises, I certainly have some empathy for what he must feel after living there for so long. And he only allows his bitterness to come out a wee little bit.
