Sorry Ruth & Capt. John, that's not shoveling. This is shoveling:<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/bk_w/5410271829/" title="Shoveling 2-2-11 by BK_W, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5258/541 ... b526_z.jpg" width="640" height="426" alt="Shoveling 2-2-11"></a>

That video was cute - how I wish I was shoveling sand!
We may not have seen any of the snow or ice that is blanketing the rest of the country, but it is aweful cold down here in the south. Yesterday it was 68 degrees and Monday it even got up to the 70's. Currently it is 32 degrees and it feels like it's in the 20's yet I bet there are many of you that wish it was 32 degrees where you are.

What really sucks is that none of the recent storms were bad enough to give me a snow day. The conditions were crappy enough to cause disruption but not enough to give me a day at home so I could pack for our upcoming trip.

I did my time on Route 495 when I commuted from Exeter, New Hampshire to Westborough, MA for several years. Seventy-five miles each way.
That photo nearly gave me an anxiety attack just remembering some horrible commutes. Then I'd get to work and people who lived down the street would call to say they weren't coming to work because their driveway wasn't plowed.
Good times!

That video is too funny! I am quite jealous and have no sympathy for Ruth's broken shovel! (You can see some of my pix from today on the OT forum. Not quite like what Ruth and John shoveled!)
That pic of the upended car is chilling - literally. Lots of stories this a.m. about people being stranded last night for hours (5 or more) in their cars on Lake Shore Drive. Some people abandoned their cars and walked, so rescue workers had to peer into car windows with flashlights to make sure no one was inside.
