Katie although we do not know each other we share something in common. My wife was diagnosed earlier this year with the ugly C word and noone can ever prepare you for that type of news. We were very lucky to get it early in stage 1. Prayers, Well wishes Hope, family and friends got us through a very tough time as I am sure you can relate. The one thing I held on to during this time was what the C word cannot do and I would like to share this with you.

Cancer CANNOT cripple love
shatter hope
corrode faith
destroy peace
kill friendship
suppress memories
silence courage
invade the soul
steal eternal life
and WIll NEVER conquer the spirit.

Praying for positve results.

Godspeed to you, your husband and family

We have been through a similar experience also and your words are so true - cancer is a disease of the body but if you keep your spirits up it can't get to your psyche - we have a giant prayer group and I wil add your husband to those we pray for.

CB I love that saying. It's engraved on a dog-tag style necklace given to DH by a friend and he has worn it through the duration of his treatments for inspiration. Best wishes to you and your wife for her good health too. I'm glad hers was caught early. DH had a screening 2 years ago that was fine; when they diagnosed him this past spring his cancer was, in the oncologist's words, "at least stage 3." So you're right -- get those screenings and in between be sure to pay attention to every change you might experience.

Thank you everyone for sharing your kind thoughts and prayers!
