Do we snorkel? You bet! I grew up on a 300 acre lake in southern Michigan and spent my childhood in the water. My first snorkel was on St.John back in 1994.I've been hooked ever since!Waterlemon is my favorite.Best wishes,Parafins

Waterlemon is our favorite, too. We also like Caneel, Honeymoon, and Maho. We first tried snorkeling when we went to Hawaii in '92. Then Cayman in '95 and we were hooked.

Thanks for the interior photos. That is way nicer than I thought it would be. As nice as the Maho studios and probably way cheaper and much closer to town for sure. How much do these rent for?

Thanks!

They charge $600 per week -- at least that's what they quoted me for a week long stay this July. (Unfortunately they were booked for our dates)

When I couldn't find any interior pictures online I assumed there must be something wrong. I was glad to see that they're just as clean as everyone has said!

I had searched for weeks for pictures like these, but within minutes of posting on this forum I found what I was looking for. This is a great resource!! :D

Parafins: Is the reef more active at night? Do you need a flashlight, or is the moon light enough? This sounds like fun! We might have to try it.

Thanks for the tip. :)

night snorkel.

Mrs.CARolph,The activity at night is a bit slower but I did see a ray, octopus, shrimp ect.I bought a used dive light from ebay and had a friend hold a flashlight on the beach. It's a good idea to have a light on the beach. In darkness sometimes it's hard to get your bearings.I went to Hawksnest and snorkeled between the coral. It's worth trying.Parafins

Parafins, We have never tried night snorkeling. I always wondered what it would be like but have never been brave enough to try.

I have a question for you night snorkelers - do you get attacked by the no see ums when you get out? I am a magnet for those at dusk and haven't even considered doing any night snorkeling for that reason.

no-see-ums bother me at dawn and dusk. We like to night snorkel Hawksnest because of the easy parking and easy entry into the water. We have not had no-see-um problems and my lover is a magent for the things. She is also rather skittish when it comes to activities like this and she generally likes night snorkeling.

Rick I agree with you.Hawksnest is a nice place for a night snorkel.I had no problems with no-seums.An easy parking. Rhonda,Once you get the chance to meet my family and if you and your hubby would feel comfortable around us I would be glad to take you on a night snorkel.Parafins.
