I thought directions like that were only given here in New England.

hopefully by time we get there, Surly Cantina will be so busy again that will just follow the crowds to them. :)
No ticker anymore. Next vac will prob. be the Fl Keys.

Directions on St. John can be quite comical! I would say it's safe to say that 80% of the people who live here have no idea what their physical address is. I get off easy on giving directions to my house since I live close to some dumpsters off a main road. The directions are usually like this:
"Do you know so and so? No? Ok, do you know so and so? Hmm...do you know where all the goats are? Ok, good, now go to the there then take the third drive on the left until you see the big tamarind tree and then go right. Just follow that until you see the big black dog and stay in the car and honk and I will come let you by the dog."

In Rhode Island landmarks are known by what USED to be there. For instance " take a (fill in the blank) where the Almacs used to be". :lol:

It is funny you say that. I grew up in RI and just the other day was telling someone I grew up in Buttonwoods and they asked me where. Part of my response was "Take a right where the Almacs used to be and then take a left where the "Cumberland Farms" used to be. Too funny.
