JT - those cats are adorable. Are they Ragdolls?

Thanks, Maggy. Your pictures are great! Yes, they are Ragdolls. They are half-brothers, same father, different mothers, though they were born about a week apart.I was not a "cat" person when my wife and I got together 35+ years ago, but everybody comes with baggage, and BT came with cats! Let's just say that until a few years back, that some of her cats and I didn't have the best relationship with each other. Then about 9 years ago she got a Ragdoll cat that not only was a great cat, he was one of my favorite pets of my life. Unfortunately, "Jeter" died at only 6 years old. We also had another very old cat when he died. BT likes to always have two cats, so she wanted to get another one. I told her that in spite of the cost, I only wanted to get another Ragdoll. Then I figured her other cat was real old, so just get 2 now and we'd be set for a long time. Two kittens were 3 times more fun then one!
Most people don't know much about Ragdolls. They are bred for personality and size. Males typically get to be around twenty pounds. Our two probably won't get that large. They also are known for their affectionate nature. They can be almost dog-like in many of their mannerisms.

Cool, I've been curious about Ragdolls for a while, and I think they are somewhat similar in their doglike way to Maine Coons. Keep following you all the time. And they also get big as MCO's.

Anyway, they are beautiful. I wish my two Maine Coons were as affectionate to each other as your Ragdolls. They don't fight, but won't sleep that close together either.

JT: do they shed like a normal cat? I was just looking and read that they need to be brushed a lot because of matting. That is a lot like Jasmine, she is hypo-allergenic and sheds very little.

Gina, they shed like most long haired cats, especially during the change of seasons. They virtually don't matt at all. Wherever you got that info was incorrect, from our experience. Three Ragdolls and never a matt yet. We do brush/comb them regularly so as to reduce the hair in the house and to reduce fur-balls! Like most cats, they keep themselves very clean.

I showed my daughter the photo that you posted of your cats (she took the picture of our Siamese on PC). She loved your cats. I'm also a cat guy by default got outvoted of a wife and two daughters

Felt sorry for the little guy with two feet of snow on the ground. He was in our crabapple tree all puffed out eatin crabapples. Hope it gets him threw till spring.

Ahhhh, yes, Robins! I love the first time in the Spring, when I hear "something," and my ears perk up and I go running to the door.....

I love the first Robin call of the year.
This morning, putting the girls out to potty, I was thinking of how deathly quiet it is in the winter, without the birds. Can't wait for the birds again....

eta: "the girls" is what we call our dogs. The kids get to potty inside.
