Here's what I found on the show I saw at JFK in Philly in 1982- My brother was going to Penn at the time...I was just a "townie" visiting...hehehe.
(text ripped off fron the internet)-
This show was at the old JFK stadium in south Philadelphia. My buddy Bob and I got in while Santana was playing. Every time Carlos would take a solo, cheers would go up from the crowd. 90,000 Who fans were shoehorned into this rickety old football stadium built in the 1920s. It was a very very rowdy and drunken atmosphere. It was like a giant keg party. The Clash was treated abominably. The crowd started booing immediately after they were introduced. All manner of debris was thrown at the stage. I remember Joe Strummer was hit right between the eyes with an apple. Mick Jones was hit by a soda bottle while in mid-leap. He picked it up and drank from it. The enormous PA system was covered by a huge cloth "W" on one side, and an equally large "O" on the other. The stage itself was under a 70 foot wide "H".
Setlist
Substitute; I Can't Explain; Dangerous; Sister Disco; The Quiet One; It's Hard; Eminence Front; Behind Blue Eyes; Baba O'Riley; I Am One; The Punk And The Godfather; Drowned; A Man Is A Man; Cry If You Want; Who Are You; Pinball Wizard; See Me Feel Me; 5.15; Love Reign O'er Me; Long Live Rock; Won't Get Fooled Again

Encore:
Magic Bus; Twist And Shout

Most live recordings are copyright free. Dimeadozen pulls anything any artist or studio wants taken down. There are clear no fly artists and this site respects that.

Don't pay for what is free, the artists don't see a dime of that money anyway.

Here is a short question and answer session with the duo and a quick acoustic set. Pete wiggles when asked about the issue. http://www.ajc.com/video?bcpid=16598253 ... 4931320001

Hey Wakey....Thanks for the great tip on the torrent site. Awesome site!

I like Wofgang's because you don't have to download (buy) anything. You can just stream tunes from your browser. I think the site you posted is great though because you can download the file at a better quality and they have videos too!

jmq - I hear ya' and have to say that I felt the same way the time I went to see Styx at the House of Blues and Dennis De Young was not with them. This was after John Panozzo had died so I was expecting not to see him but come on, Dennis is the voice (and the writer) behind most of Styx's biggest hits. Now Tommy and JY are the only original members...they need to change their name.

Oh and another one...KISS...it's bad enough that they are back now without Ace and Peter but don't put the other two in Ace and Peter's makeup...at least let them pic their own personas like Eric Carr did when he replaced Peter.

So yeah, I totally agree with you jmq.

Nothintolose – this just in from the funny-you-should-mention-Styx-in-a-Who-thread department: former member of Styx and local Jersey guy Glen Burtnik is putting on a show entitled “Glen Burtnik & Friends Celebrate the Music of The WHO” next week.

This might give you an idea of how they will sound at the super bowl. I think they sound really good.

I have been really curious about the grammy's. I didn't want them. I think I will talk a look and see what all the buzz is about. I saw the opening with Gaga and Elton John and thought it was pretty good.

Oh, and I thought the boss sucked at the super bowl. It is interesting how we can see the same thing and have such different reactions. I am not a boss fan so--disclaimer I guess.

This is not intended to be a tread jack---but you mentioned the grammy's so I have been at youtube seeing the performances. Does anyone want to discuss the performances??

OHMYGOD I looooovvvved the tribute to Michael Jackson with Earth Song. What a great song. You might remember that I am a MJ fan.

I liked Bon Jovi--just sing the song people! Enough with the goofy outfits and over-the-top dancers. If I remember right Leanne Rhymes grew up with Jon Bon Jovi. They sound really good together. AND Jon looks goooood!

Beyonce is gorgeous and her voice is amazing. I like the song If I Were A Boy but Alanis Morrissette sang You Ought to Know a lot better than Beyonce. And the soldiers look too much like Michael Jackson's They Don't Care About Us. It looks like a copy to me. But again I love MJ and don't want him to be copied.

Pink is amazing but she was a little boring--the song was a ballad and dull. But I normally love her, her songs, her voice, and her performances. Her performance was amazing--just didn't love the song. She sings great live! What did you all think of the swinging thing?

Taylor Swift didn't sound good at all. Doesn't she sound really flat?? Stevie Nicks outsang her. The whole thing was pretty bad though.

Akon---ok---that was strange. It is kind of like he was singing to his own song on the radio. I could hear him singing in the background and him sining live. I love that song! (Na Na Na) It is in my ipod and it is slower and so much better.

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes, but that was just sad. They were slow, didn't hit the right notes, and just a little "long in the tooth". I'd rather listen to them in the opening of CSI? But it sure does bring back great memories of what rock and roll was once like, at it's best.

what do you mean by this? that she grew up on his music? because I don't think she literally grew up with him because she's a good deal younger and not from anywhere near Sayerville, NJ. I know nothing to little of Leanne Rimes though so if there's a relation here I'd be interested in hearing about it.

mbw: I think Leann Rimes grew up in the town Jon Bon Jovi lives in now. I don't remember for sure but I thought it was her--he had a concert and she was singing song after song with him. Maybe I have it wrong.

The Who was better than I thought they would be. I liked the laser show. I wasn't ever really into the who so I don't know anyones names. The guy with the hat tonight sang really well. It was the main singer that was a little off. The band sounded great. Just my opinion. I am sure true fans will see it a lot differently.

I thought The Who rocked for a bunch of old dudes. They didn't embarrass themselves. They were about like the Boss was when he did the Super Bowl. It was obvious they weren't in their prime, but they were still really good. At least now we know why Robert Plant won't do a Zepplin reunion. Hehehehehee....
