Man, I missed the KC interview. Where can I find it? I'm not a KC fan, but I love his song Old Blue Chair, cause it talks about Cinnamon where I got married.

I have to say that as a country music fan and a huge fan of KC, I could really care less where he hangs out. I know that one of the prices you pay when you are famous is that your privacy is compromised, but I could really care less.
If I am sitting at Woody's and he happens to walk out of his "office", I would probably be pretty excited. Would I approach him? Never. Would I tell eveyone I know that I saw him? Of Course.
It is pretty funny that there is so much hype about him, he is just a skinny singer from the south.

I'm a huge fan of Kenny's, I did see him once, on the Willy T, but I didn't speak to him. He was with a bunch of people and I didn't want to bug him, OR make a fool of myself. I just admired him from afar. Since then I have heard, that he doesn't mind people talking to him. What are the chances I'd ever get a chance like that again!!!????

I happened to catch the interview because I Tivo’d ‘The Amazing Race,’ but 60 Minutes was running late so I got most of the show by accident.
I am a big country music fan, but I don’t like the new pop-country stuff, and unfortunately a lot of Kenny Chesney’s music fits into that category.
I do love his early music, from before he was a superstar (like ‘Back Where I Come From’ and ‘You and Me’).
I thought it was funny that they said on 60 Minutes that KC became really popular from the song ‘She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,’ because that is when I stopped liking his music. The song goes “she ain't into cars or pick up trucks…but if it runs like a Deere man her eyes light up.” I’m a country girl from a farm family, and I can tell you that any girl who likes John Deere tractors (the only kind my family owns) ALSO likes pick up trucks. That is unless she’s pretending to be something she’s not. I found that line about pick ups annoying, as did all my country folk friends and family. That probably sounds funny to non-country folks, but I thought it was appropriate to mention it given the topic, ha ha.
Anyway, I actually wished they hadn’t shown STJ at all on 60 Minutes. The island is getting too crowded, and any media exposure is only going to make it worse. I thought the same thing as California Girl…I hope people are turned off by his “office” and stay away from STJ
I try to do my part to keep STJ a “secret.” I often have conversations that go something like this:
Other person: So where are you going on vacation?
Me: To the Caribbean
(most people are satisfied with that answer, but some continue on…)
Other person: Where in the Caribbean?
Me: The Virgin Islands
(if they continue to inquire)
Other person: Where in the Virgin Islands?
Me: Oh, the US Virgin Islands
(most people stop asking by now, but some continue…)
Other person: Which island?
Me: (reluctantly) St. John (and then I try to change the subject)

But then they go and talk about STJ on national television and my attempts to keep it secret from random Joe Schmoes doesn’t add up to hill of beans. Oh well.
I also found the Hooters plane thing annoying.

I'm a big KC fan (especially his island music), thought the interview was great and loved what they showed of STJ, even the alley behind Woodys! His concerts are definitely "fun", can't wait for the 2007 flip-flop tour to kick off and already have tickets for the Foxboro, MA performance.

I have to admit that I am a big country music and Kenny Chesney fan. We went to 2 of his concerts last year, and plan to go see him in Tampa and maybe Cincy this year. I really like his music, especially the "beachy, Buffett-like" songs. He is a great performer!
I would never stalk anyone, though, and I hate that people do that to people like him. I like that 60 minutes did not show too much of the island or say exactly where that "office" was. I thought it was a very good interview.

Have to admit, I'm a big fan, too...already have my 1st set of tickets for this tour - to Foxboro. His love of the island reminds me of mine - born and raised in the mountains and have no idea where this need to be "at the ocean" comes from. To see him on island would be a treat, but I'd never bother him. He deserves his time in paradise just like we all look forward to it. But he is "in my ears" on my ipod when I'm lying on the STJ beaches!!

Don't shoot me, but I'm not a fan of country music, so I've never listened to any of KC's music. I did enjoy the interview and I would like to hear some of his stuff. Keeping in mind that country isn't my thing, what songs would you KC fans recommend for me as an intro to his music? What are wome of his better island songs?
Thanks!
Thanks!
