Murder at the Westin STJ?
I saw that on a BVI site and then just a day or two later, there was a show (dateline or something similar) about two similar cases in Australia. One was murder (husband convicted) and other the authorities think was murder/suicide. Chilling.wishwewerethere wrote:Yes, kind of like the guy from RI that killed his wife on their honeymoon while scuba diving in the BVI's. He was recently found guilty and I think it was ruled an accident at first. But some other random scuba diver snapped a shot on their underwater camera of the whole situation...
Horrible no matter what.
Whoa!
Crazy, man. I read about this the other day on The Tradewinds...
Thanks for the links to other papers' reporting.
If anyone can get to the bottom of this, it's Dr.Baden. The man is a genius.
I think we were down there the same week? One article said that he wanted to get his wife's body cremated? =GUILTY.
After SHE confronted HIM about HIS affair? Not for nothin', but it sounds like he went into a rage after finding himself defenseless with her confronting him.
Pathetic excuse for a man.
If I was in the VI's and an argument like that unraveled about my significant others' infidelities, I'd walk away and take a few nights at the Tamarind to unwind alone. Been there.
Last thing I'd do would be to hang myself.
Maybe drink myself into near homelessness, but not hang myself.
Hope the VIPD figures this out.
Last thing we need is another Natalie Halliday(sp?) situation.
Big shame for the family...

It's been getting daily coverage in my local paper. Today's front page metro story states that a hearing on the matter has been continued to Friday. The family wants an autopsy done, the husband does not. The wrinkle is that the wife had a will when she died, which left the husband in charge of everything: finances, estate, and burial arrangements. The co-executor of the will, a family friend, says that she is going to cede to the husband's wishes.
The family is petitioning to have someone else named as co-executor of the estate so that they can request the autopsy. The family has also filed a wrongful death suit against the husband.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

That is horrible. Clearly she trusted him . . . that, in itself, makes my stomach turn. Her family clearly fears foul play. I hope they are able to get the autopsy and some answers.
Thank you for the update liamsaunt

I just don't like the fact that the family does not like him. Usually when all of them do not like him there is good reason for it. I could never live with people thinking that I may be guilty, so I would have the autopsy done on that grounds alone.
Yes, the Westin does have the curved shower curtains in them and they are screwed into the wall. I remember hanging my swim suit on it and noticed that some of the screws were comming out. I guess I never looked at it close enough to see if it would hold any weight.
