Ha Ha! The first time we visited the in-laws in FL (St. Pete/Clearwater) it was Christmas week and the weather was cold by FL standards. Windy in the 50s.

We sat out by the pool at the hotel with a few couples from the UK. We were all loving it at 55 degrees, drinking beer in our shorts and t-shirts. The hotel employees and my ILs thought we were CRAZY.

I remember sleeping with the sliding glass door open and wearing shorts while the locals where in layers.

Oh you silly Northerners! Anything below 65 degrees is cold to me, but that's a Southerner for you. I agree the Sarasota area is beautiful - great beaches, and really nice in the winter, just not beach weather, IMO.

PA Girl, my sister's fam wears winter coats when it falls below 60, no joke.
