Holy Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, and every other childhood fantasy come true.
You win, hands down.
Way to go, Mom!!!
Now all you have to do is freak them out with a couple 'jumbie' stories!!!
Awesome, and wonderful!

Jimg- that is hilarious about Alabama. I could so see that happening. Our secret was actually inspired by a friend who is doing a similar stunt with her kids and going to Disney instead of their grandparents. (Poor grandma and grandpa, always getting the shaft! )

In the car I could see them being totally clueless. Who knows the US map anymore and what kid would figure out you are going the wrong direction!

I am really excited now, only 24 hours! Of course my oldest was a total witch before school today. I felt like just screaming out to her "don't you know what I am doing for you!!!!"

Of course at that age they are not supposed to appreciate anything. And they usually don't.

But this will be a big surprise.

Mahojim- I still look for jumbies bouncing in the trees on the North Shore road!

Hi djmom,
That is so very AWESOME! I cannot imagine how you are able to keep this surprise from them!

Glad to hear I am not the only mom that feels this way at times! You wrote: Of course my oldest was a total witch before school today. I felt like just screaming out to her "don't you know what I am doing for you!!!!"

Have a Happy Thanksgiving on STJ :D

Great surprise! Our son 13 and Dau 10 have been going with us for 7 years now and I don't think we could pull this off without them knowing.

My Daughter alwys has a count down for the next trip when we get back from the last one.

'Mornin' !
Get ready for lift-off!
I'm so excited for you & your family!!!
It should be fun witnessing your children be so excited to become so relaxed.-(maybe that's just me... )
Not sure where you're staying, but do yourselves a grand justice, and get some bbq from Uncle Joe's (on the opposite corner from Cap's Place) for some wonderful take-out.
Hope you have a great trip, just don't forget your
Smiles

And here's to hoping this AM's "FAA glitch" didn't cancel your flight...
