Hot sausage from one particular stand run by a local family doing it nearly 100 years

Funnel cakes with tons of powdered sugar

Fresh squeezed orange-aid

There are very few things I wouldn't do for a foot long corn dog.

Someone told me they saw a "new" fair food item this year...something like a giant slab o'bacon on a stick? Has anyone seen this? I must know. Giant bacon on a stick sounds like the perfect food....

This year, there are two new offerings; deep fried cherries dipped in chocolate and deep fried bacon dipped in chocolate called "Sweet Piggy

I recently ate some Chocolate Bacon Cake at a local restaurant (not fair food), and I have to say that I LOVE chocolate and I LOVE bacon, but that's got to be one of the worst combinations on the planet! yuk!

NC is offering something called a "strip of lean" or something awful. Essentially a slab of pork fat with a wee bit of meat in it. Then, of course, fried in bacon grease or something else equally horrible.

Not quite giant bacon though. But, would giant bacon have to come from a giant pig? If so, I think I'm scared.

I'm 2 days away from the NC fair. I have to go get my tetanus shot and rebel flag manicure done later tonight.

shoemak38, it didn't have chocolate, just bacon.

Maybe that's it? That doesn't sound yummy though, and what I heard about sounded yummy. That sounds like a giant pork rind. Wait....that might be yummy afterall.....

I heard there was going to be chocolate dipped bacon--I cannot even imagine!!

I love kettle corn, coated almonds (in something cinnamond-y), and caramel apples. I know I am boring.

My sister just had chocolate dipped bacon and texted me about it at, like, 1 am.
My favorite is from a local music festival; a vendor from Vermont I think, and it's sweet potato fries with a yummy curry-mayo dip.

Happy to report 2 hours at the fair yesterday and I only consumed a foot long corn dog loaded with mustard, half portion of vinegar fries and half of a cinnamon sticky bun (it was exhausting!) The corn dog was absolutely the most gratifying, artery clogging indulgence and I could have eaten two!

I never had one, but in San Diego the rage was friend twinkies. The next year they "improved" them by dipping them in chocolate. I'm bummed I never got to try one, but I'll probably live at least 3 years longer not having done so!

Ok folks this isn't funny. My wife just caught me spreading chocolate frosting over my cheeseburger. I blamed it on this thread.

Her response. She has now cut up an apple and threw a couple lbs of peanut butter on it.

They say that when you look into the eyes of your love, you see God's face.

They say that when you start into the eyes of your child, you see God's face.

I say differently.

Folks...sit down

I was shown God's face today...and I ate it.

Foot-long chocolate covered bacon...ON A STICK!!!

ON A FREAKIN' STICK!

Pictures to follow

I forgot about vinegar fries! I like those too.

I am not a fry person in general but when husband gets the fresh cut fries in that cardboard boat, loaded with salt and vinegar, I swear they are the tastest thing on earth.
