How do people keep getting first class upgrades? That hasn't happened to me since I was, like, 20 years old.

First class upgrades: Our flight from MIA to STT on AA was sold out in coach and they had people on standby. So they picked the folks with the most FF miles (that would be us) and moved us up to some empty first class seats in order to accomodate the folks on standby. We had just bought our lunch to take on the plane. We ate the sushi that we bought, but I put away my Au Bon Pain sandwich and took the airline steak instead. A little chewey but it tasted alright. I only wish they had some Red Stripe to wash it down. The sandwich is sitting in the fridge here in Coral Bay. Think it's still good?
