Loved your report. We're making our first trip in November. I'm very interested in going to Jost now that I read your report. There are 8 of us traveling together and everyone loves to bar hop. Sounds like the perfect day trip for us. What's the deal with mixing your own drinks at Sydney's? How much is the ferry? Thanks,
Pam

Beautiful pictures. Congrats on the anniversary! The picture from the Annaberg ruins was especially nice.

Thanks for all the nice TR compliments and for the Anniversary congrats. Our Anniversary was actually yesterday, June 30, but for timing purposes, we needed to go to St. John earlier in the month. This way, we were able to celebrate again!

We will be going back -- there were things we wanted to do, but didn't. We will NOT go through Chicago, if at all possible. Thanks for the 2 hour layover tip luv2go. We had one hour, and we were running to get to the next gate, asking directions as we went.

pegoode,

Thanks!

It'd be easy to bar hop on Jost and after you drink too much, just find a hammock and take a nap! Since we were the only ones at Sydney's, Strawberry (the waitress), showed us where the ingredients for the Painkillers were located and let Randy do the rest. For our second round, he just went behind the bar and made two more. We asked her about honesty when it comes to paying, and she said people have a conscience and it's not a problem.

The ferry from St. John to Jost was $60 round trip per person. It left St. John at 8:30 and we were at Jost until 3:15.

Great report and wonderful pictures, Peg. We really enjoyed meeting you both at Vie's. Conversation with you and Randy made our rather wet lunch very enjoyable. It was unbelievable how crowded Vie's was that day. She sold out of nearly everything.

Congratulations on your 25th. St. John is a very special place and where we also love to spend our anniversaries. I hope to go next May for our 47th.

Wonderful pictures. Very creative with the picture of your local newspaper - hope you win a contest with it!
