Well, now you have 3 reasons that you cant see Bruce tonite - just wasnt in the cards for you this time.
Hope your ER experience wasnt too horrible, you get your Mom set up OK, strap on a knee brace or two for Sat., and off you go.

This is funny .. in a side conversation JMQ knew that I had already bailed on tonight's Bruce show right here smack dab in the swamps of Jersey because of my knee. Normally it wouldn't prevent me from going to a show but I was nervous about romping around the Meadowlands 2 days before vacation. In a surprising move to many this time vacation trumped Bruce.
My mother is OK .. bruised and hurtin but no fractures or anything which brings a MAJOR sigh of relief.
So pretty stressful day all in all. And I just quit working and come downstairs from my office. Charlie's got Bob Marley on the stereo and he set up a little cocktail party for us and he said "I'd figure we'd have our own little tail gate party to start our vacation".
Well I was doing good right up to that point but then everything I was holding in just came pouring out in a flood of tears!
Well, enough of that nonsense! Off to drink some VI Pale Ales.
Charlie is officially on vacation now but I still have to work tomorrow

Glad to hear about Mom. Its my biggest fear with my Mom and MIL they fall!
How sweet of Charlie, he's a great guy. Have fun, soak in the healing water.

MB- I'm just finding this post and I'm so glad to know that your mom is alright and you guys are going to be able to make the trip! I hope you enjoy every minute of it. Those healing waters should help!

Oh MaryBeth,
How I know what you are going through. I have a serious knee problem also and the Dr's always say an replacement is called for. I've been putting it off for a couple of years now. Every time I go to STJ it somehow disappears.It must be the heat and the salt water! Or maybe just the ambiance the island puts forth.
My Mom has a heart problem and seeing that I'm her only caretaker it may prevent me from my usual 2 weeks in Aug.
Hope that you have a wonderful trip and your knee problems just disappear for a while.

Dear MB - so glad your mom is OK. Sorry that you were so stressed, but that Charlie IS a sweetheart. I think you two are such a sweet couple
