Orangespotted filefish

Thanks, Maggy. I guess this one must be a juvenile or something since it doesn't exactly have orange spots, eh?

I can't see the photo again, as the webpage is not responding, but they do have smaller orange spots towards the tail and on the back. I don't have any picture of a juvenile, so I'm unsure how they look.

But there are also a white spotted filefish that can be totally orange, without spots, so this is a bit confusing. That one is much bigger, so there is no doubt what species your fish is.

And just to make it even more confusing, there is a rare filefish called orange filefish (saw one in Virgin Gorda) that is covered in small orange dots.

Well, enough fish ID for today Bedtime here on this side of the pond.

Thanks. There was a pair of them nesting under the eves of the mill. Inside the mill there were were zillions of bats!
