I used to do this with my friends little ones when we camped at the lake...

We would make a "changing room" out of cheap shower curtains, by hanging them from trees to form either a triangular or square "room".

Each morning, their clean dry clothes, would come out of the tent and would hang in zip baggies on a tree next to the "changing room".

After the day of sand, grime, and lake water, they would take a sun shower (or wash off in the lake)and go to the "changing room", dry off with their towel, and take their clean clothes out and change (usually their PJ's).

Once the kiddos came out of the tent in the morning, they weren't allowed back in, until they had washed off and changed into their bag of clothes. Dirty clothes went into a tote behind the tent.

This might not work with you, as we had a little bit of grass where our campsite was.

Good luck, it sounds like fun!

DJmom,
one word. Actually two. SCRAMBLED BROWNIES!!!!!
take a package of instant brownie mix and prepare as per instructions then place the mix in a greased frying pan and scramble (over the fire) until cooked!

my daughter SWEARS this is the BEST dessert.

loria,
too late for this trip, but that recipe sounds like a winner, I will wirte that down.

as far as the sand, this is what I have decided. the tent has three "compartments". I am going to let each compartment of girls decide how they are going to deal with it. I'll give them the tools...they can decide if they will allow "guests", shoes, etc....

THAT will be funny. And it fits right in with the "Girl Scout Way" of empowering the girls and letting the make their own decisions....make their own sandy bed and lie in it...

Wish me luck! Someone remind Ned to have a pitcher of SOMETHING ready for me!
