We leave at 12pm, although, last year we had a 2 hour wait until the plane came in from NY, but my two sisters will still be in the airport. One is going on Spirit back to Fla and the other back to South Carolina. There flights don't leave until later in the afternoon so they will be spending the day at the airport because we have an earlier flight. They said they didn't mind, wanted us all to go back together.

Sorry, I've been lazy about putting our dates on the member travel calendar, but we'll be on St. John 5/23 - 6/6 and then will stay one night on St. Thomas. Looks like we'll be on the same flight to STT as Jo Ann and MaryBeth. :)

Right, just like last year, we are arriving as you are leaving, susan & herb. We have to say this again, "Maybe next year!"

My wife and I will be there from the 17th through the 24th. She wanted to make sure we were home in time to spend Memorial Day with the kids. I personally don't think they would care too much if we weren't there.

Three weeks till St John, and it's getting harder and harder to work. My stress-racked body & soul know there's relief in the near future, and there's just no fooling me. Work has officially become a full time trudge.

For the other memorialites, what are you most looking forward too? I've been to STJ five times (twice on business) and have yet to drive to Salt Pond or East End, so those are high on my list. I'm also hoping for a dingy ride and some scuba (haven't gotten either on my earlier trips.)

Isabel's taking swim lessons now (she's 3.5) and I'm really excited to have her noodle around with us while we snorkel. Haven't yet decided on the snorkel raft thing yet (see below), though it looks cool.

teefal, can you talk to my boss? I'm dying to know how you got to go to STJ on business.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the look on my husband's face when we step off the plane. Work is really getting to me, and May 23 just can't come fast enough.

This might help explain it:

Scroll down for videos from St John.

Mind you I didn't say I made money on those trips (much the opposite), just that I was there on business.

So cool teefal! I work for a Native community development financial institution - I'm going to have to be a little creative to get a business trip to STJ.

sinawitatanka, be sure and get a picture of his face when you guys step out onto the beach for the first time. Those pictures of us when we went to Maho that first day were priceless because we had huge goofy grins that lasted hours.

One of our hopeful pilots is in St Vincent with a village of native Carib, one of the few remaining.

In other news, my wife had a guest conducting thing this morning, which she had to be at 8am. At 7:30 she was still sleeping and I said, "Hey aren't you supposed to get going?" She bolted out of bed, showered, blow-dried her hair, and dressed in like 10 minutes.

Now I know it can be done :) Almost 14 years together and I've never seen her move that fast.

Teefal,

I am most looking forward to being able to unwind. The last several months have been a whirlwind for me and my family. Job lay-off, new job with a very long commute, daughter about to graduate from college with no job in sight, son graduating from high school with a serious case of senioritis. I can't wait to feel that warm humid air and see that incredible blue-green water. Beyond that we only a few committments, a day trip to the BVIs with Capt Brandi and an off-shore fishing trip. This is our 2nd trip. 1st time we never made it out to Coral Bay and the East End. We hope to spend more time on the east end this time.

The wait is truly unbearable at this point so today I am taking some time to dig out the snorkle gear, gather up some incidentals, and maybe pack a few things that I know I won't be using before we leave.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the BB on 5/24!

mbw,
Glad I'm not the only one!! I also want to fine-tune my playlist. That was my vacation activity last weekend but I need to tweak it. These little things are keeping me sane right now. It is nice to know that we are now in the same month as our departure date. Unfortuntately that also makes it too tantalizingly close!!

psufan, we'll see you at the BB on the 24th, flights allowing. teefal, I think the work you do is amazing! The Visa Corporation gave 10 computers to our school, loaded with personal finance games, and it has made a big impact. And ifloat, you know I'll be glued to the camera this trip, since I won't have your pics to fall back on! I need to create a playlist - that should keep me busy! 22 days left, and I'm already packed.
