Caribbean Travel Tips - I need your help
Here is a suggestion:
The Mine Shaft Café on Virgin Gorda in the BVIs http://www.mineshaftbvi.com/ offers beautiful sunset views while you dine out on their elevated deck with very good food, including above average BBQ and jerk chicken wraps with homemade potato salad and curly fries. Drinks are good too, including a not too sweet Rum Punch. Overall, a good value.

Plus, right as the sun sets, what seems like dozens of chickens gather under the big tree next to the deck and start a clumsy, noisy ascent up into the highest part of the tree. What a spectacle. The hostess tells us they are wild and don’t have a man made place to stay, so they roost up in the tree for the night to stay safe from predators. What must that place sound like at 5 AM?

When we come to place where the sea and the sky collide
Throw me over the edge and let my spirit glide

Hi Anthony! I have been to a few different places: Jamaica, Punta Cana, Mexico, BVI, and the Bahamas. Are you looking for short little trip reports or tips for each place? I would love to help out in some way. Do you think you could PM me and tell me exactly what you are lookimg for and maybe I can help out in some way!

I guess my tip would be about visiting The Baths. Amy & I went there and visited The caves at Norman Island with Cruz Bay Water Sports a few years ago.
The day was lovely, but getting in & out of the boat when we arrived at the Baths was nearly impossible.
You'll have the option of swimming in, or getting assistance to/from the beach via dinghy.
If the surf is the least bit choppy,-TAKE THE DINGHY!!!
We chose to swim in, and the undertow was unbelievably challenging. It took the better part of 15-20 minutes to make it in the last 5-10 yards onto the beach. By then we didn't really have too much time to enjoy the rocks & pools, plus, we were literally exhausted-and we're relatively strong swimmers. (Kind of a bummer...)
Just my 2 cents-hope it helps someone out there!
