Yes, all she'd need is some pickles....Does anyone know where to get a couple thousand pounds of pickles?
Still waiting to return to St. John!

None of their food banks would take it :(

Obviously, the more altruistic suggestions like the ones made here would be nice and much preferred plus I assume your engineers have considered and rejected the idea of making a temporary modification to the slicing equipment.
However, if that didn’t work out, would you consider selling to one of your competitors or frozen pizza makers or one of the big pizza retail chains?
Here’s a real long shot suggestion of that type: until recently one of our big accounts was McCain Foods (no not the Senator – they are based in Canada and are big in the potato business) and they had frozen pizza making plants in different parts of the US. They make the Ellio’s frozen pizza brand. They do have a plant in Illinois – don’t know if it makes pizza – but their corp office is also located in Lisle, IL. But they probably have very specific size specs for their equipment too…
Altering the slicing equipment would take weeks and thousands of dollars, so obviously it's not worth it. I'm very familiar with McCain Foods (the food business is a small place :))...actually they are one of our suppliers. Even if the pepperoni worked in their slicers (which is highly unlikely), it is even less likely that their pepperoni ingredient statement would match ours. FDA products can fudge a little bit on ingredient statements, but USDA products (meat) have to be exactly right. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Not as big as you might think...our spec calls for the diameter to be 44 +/-2 mm...this stuff is 47 to 50 mm. It probably doesn't seem like much but it makes all the difference in the world :)

Oh I can't do this to you! You are too nice for my crude and disgusting sense of humor!

I'm being bad, and here you are trying to do something nice and help someone.

It's been a long day.

why not contact the arts department at a local university anbd see if they are interested in making the worlds largest pepperoni sculpture- they would have to call teh Guiness folks (and yes, i am serious) --i can't find anything about pepperoni sculptures on onl ine--
sponsored by your company (free publicity) and a hoot for students of studio/fine arts.

Just checking in to see if you found somewhere to stash your sausage. I guess not.
Looking forward to hearing what you do with it.
