Has anyone stayed at those Samuel Cottages? Seems like a pretty cool and cheap Island fix.

Never have stayed there but there has been a forumulite or two that has. Maybe they will chime in. I remember they said they were clean. I know we have talked about staying there if funds get tight or for sneeking an extra vacation in for the year.

I'm liking the cottages too.
In this economy, I wish I would have noticed them before I booked for May.

Does anyone know where they are located?

They are on Centerline Road as you head out of Cruz Bay. You would pass Dolphin on your left and Samuals are on the right , further up the road at the 1st "bend"

Thanks Pia for the location info. Now my cheapa$$ brain is spinnin. FF ticks, Sammuel cottages, no jeep, bring food could swing it for $1000 total. That location would be perfect for no jeep we have stayed at Cruz Views and if ya get rid of that Pocket Money hill hike Dolphin market would be a breeze. We could hit Salomon,Honeymoon and Hawksnest on the cheap. We are really just beach bums anyways and we would be in our fave place on earth an extra week.

We talk about Samuel Cottages as the inexpensive alternative too. There are some trip reports in the archive that are quite positive - classic local providing West Indian hospitality. Though, for $600 a week I imagine that the a/c can't run all day. That might be a put off for the "I paid for it, I can do what I like" crowd.

Samuel Cottages

Post by parafins »

O.K. I'll chime in.My family stayed @ Samuel Cottages back in July of '07.It was better than I tought it would be.All three cottages have a ocean view, and yes some have a powerline view with it.The best views maybe with cottage#3.Rhonda{forum member}and her hubby stayed at #3 while we were there and we stayed at cottage#2.It's a great value and the owners are very nice. The only downside I remember is no blender and if you use the oven it's going to warm up the place.Check out my post on Samuel,I posted pics of cottage#2.ParafinsImage
