Coffee Rubbed steak with the Vidalia onion in the background. Bad lighting since it was getting late around here!

Thanks Mary Beth! Is that the onion with boullion cube from the steak contest? If so, how did you like it? I may have to look up that recipe and try that. We both like onions, good thing  .

Mary Beth, did you use white sugar or brown sugar in that rub? I wonder what it would taste like if you used Kiss Of The Jumbie... hmmm...

I used the turbinado sugar that it called for, which is that brown'ish or raw sugar color. And funny you say I had a mix of Jumbie and White Choc. Truffle in my grinder so I added some dark roast and used that blend. It was quite good.

Brenda, yes that's the same onion. It was good but the bullion is a tad salty. Wish I had an alternative or could find a low sodium bullion. Charlie loved it though ;)
I wonder if a demi glace would be less salty or would even work with these? It might.

A different take on things.

I like going to the Farmer's Market in the summer and looking for the colors.

Now I just need to turn the tomatoes and peppers I bought into something nice.

That looks absolutely delicious! So light and fresh for summer. Is it any special recipe or is it as simple as it looks? Shrimp and avocado is a great combination.

the salad was a Bobby Flay recipe and for the shrimp I used a leftover sauce from when I made cedar planked fish earlier in the week.

That looks really good, MaryBeth! Nice farmer's market pics too, pipinale.

I made a recipe for grilled corn and avocado salsa that was in the Sunday paper. I served it over grilled red snapper. It was tasty!

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
