This is a picture of a warm lobster sandwich like the one that I had recently on the island of North Caicos... the homemade bread had the consistency, strangely but deliciously, of angel food cake. I can't imagine I will ever go there again, so I will immortalize it here.

The picture is from The Silver Palm's website. If you ever go to North Caicos, you'll find your way to this place, as there is not much else on the island.
I decided to add a link to this place's website. I had read an article on it on the plane to Providenciales, and it intrigued me.
I forgot to mention that they had the best conch fritters. Ever. EVER. These islands are home to fresh conch, plus they were so incredibly light and fluffy and full of conch and peppers and such. Too bad I'll likely never go there again!

Today I met Sun4MySoul for breakfast in San Juan Capistrano. We ate at the Ramos House Cafe ( http://www.ramoshouse.com/ ) and had an amazing meal! After living in this town for 15 years, it was the first time I ever ate there! Usually when I go past it, it's because I'm showing someone around town. I always want to eat there, but it's a little pricey, and everyone always opts for something less expensive. So I was thrilled when Sun suggested the Ramos House!
We started with Mimosas and Cinnamon Apple Beignets

Sun ordered the Mac & Cheese w/ Grilled Artichokes

And I had the Peach Pain Perdu

You can check out the menu here: http://www.ramoshouse.com/?page=7

I included one sheet in the recipe and that is what it came out with. I was surprisedmbw1024 wrote:including puff pastry?Xislandgirl wrote:I plugged it into the WW recipe builder,I changed the bacon to Canadian bacon and used fat free yogurt. It came up as 7 points per serving. That I can handle. I am going to try and make it this week.
We also found excellent conch, fritters and otherwise prepared, in the Turks and Caicos Islands.Maryanne wrote:These islands are home to fresh conch, plus they were so incredibly light and fluffy and full of conch and peppers and such. Too bad I'll likely never go there again![/color]

I ordered it every chance I got -

I am in a cooking rut at the moment and need to get back in the groove.
I don't take pictures of my food because food I cook tends to be tasty but not pretty. Here's what we've eaten on our NC beach vacation so far:
Saturday: Went out and I had a grouper burger
Sunday: Salmon with Ruth's Creole Seasoning and couscous
Monday: Rockfish with Ruth's garlic and herb blend. Spaghetti with oil and garlic on the side
Tuesday: Burgers and peel and eat shrimp
Wednesday: More shrimp and Red Snapper with Ruth's Steak seasoning (It was good). Spaghetti on the side
Thursday: Mahi with more of Ruth's garlic and herb. Rice on the side.
This all goes with daily rations of either clam chowder (when we went out to lunch) or burgers or hot dogs served on the beach.
Oh...I made bacon every morning.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm...
