I want to make this drink this weekend, but MaryBeth, is strawberry nectar you are referring to something like the cans of Minute Maid in the freezer case? I don't think I've ever seen strawberry before (but then I am not usually over in that section of the store). I just want to be sure I get the right thing.mbw1024 wrote:Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade
I used 1 can pink lemonade, a can of strawberry nectar and two cans cold water. To my glass I added a healthy dose of Vodka, added the juice to 3/4 full and topped with seltzer.

Becky, this was the recipe that I mocked. I didn't follow exactly because I had no idea how many lemons it took to make all that juice and I didn't feel like squeezing
Also, I intended to use regular frozen lemonade but I went to the little grocery in town and pink was all they had so I went with it.
Because I used the frozen lemonade I didn't need any additional sugar!

Hi everybody, I love this thread. A while back I remember finding a drink on the forum that was supposed to taste like Juicy Fruit gum. I seem to recall it was made of four different flavored rums in equal parts but I can't remember which ones. I think it was banana, coconut, vanilla and citrus or mango. Does anyone have the recipe? Thanks.

Here are just a few from my trusty Cruzan recipe collection! You will see the Juicy Fruit one below...and yes, it tastes exactly like the gum!
STARBURST- Cruzan Citrus Junkanu, and Banana rums with cranberry juice.
BANANA-NANA- Cruzan Banana and Dark Rums with o.j.
ST. CROIX PUNCH- Cruzan Citrus Junkanu, and Coconut Rums, pineapple juice, sour mix, & Grenadine.
JUICE “C” FRUIT- Equal parts of Cruzan Pineapple, Orange, Coconut, and Banana Rums.

Well, I ended up making a pitcher of sangria instead of the strawberry cocktail, it was yum:

Woody's Lime 'n Coconut
While on STJ I tried Lime and Coconut at Woody's and Banana Deck. We made Painkillers, Bloody Marys and Pina Coladas at the Villa, it was all good, but Lime 'n Coconut is my favorite! Here is Woody's recipe:
1.5 oz. coconut rum
1 oz. cream of coconut
2 oz. Rose's Lime Juice
splash of Sprite (optional)
1/2 slice of lime
Put in blender with 1 large glass of ice. Blend until smooth. Use other 1/2 slice of lime for garnish.
Banana Deck adds a spritz of whipped cream.
I made this since I've been home (brought home 2 bottles of Cruzan Coconut). Really refreshing.

White Sangria
Ingredients:
Serves approx. 15
2 bottles of Pinot Grigio, 750 ml each
8 oz. Calvados
8 oz. Cointreau
8 oz. simple syrup
12 oz. freshly-squeezed orange juice
12 oz. fresh lemon juice
12 oz. fresh-pressed apple juice, Granny Smith
3-4 lemons cut into thin quarters
12 strawberries, sliced
2 apples, sliced
2 bartlet pears, sliced
3-4 small oranges cut into thin quarters
7-UP as needed
Directions:
1. Place above ingredients (excluding 7-UP) into a large glass container, cover and refrigerate overnight.
2. When ready to serve, pour into an ice-filled pitcher until 2/3 full.
3. Add freshly-sliced fruits and top with 7-UP, stir gently to mix.
4. Serve in fruit filled-wine glasses.
• Have fun and experiment with different fresh seasonal fruits and juices.
• Sangria always tastes better after it sits for 24-36 hours.

Here’s a single-serving punch that's flavorful, and fun for the spring and summer. It's also very easy on the taste buds.
1 ½ oz. vodka
1 ½ oz. sweet red vermouth
1 oz orange curacao
½ oz. gin (Tanguary No. 10, if possible)
½ oz. cherry brandy
Assorted summer fruits, sliced (peach, apricot, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
1-2 dashes bitters
2 oz. ginger ale
2 oz. lemonade (sparkling, if possible)
Splash club soda (only if sparkling lemonade is unavailable)
Combine vodka, vermouth, gin, curacao and cherry brandy in a pitcher. Fill with ice and stir to chill. Strain mixture into a highball glass filled with ice. Add one or two small slices each of peach, apricot and strawberry and two or three of each type of berry to the middle of the glass and some on top. Add bitters. Add ginger ale and lemonade. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon rind.

I'm having major problems finding Cruzan Coconut here in Sweden (have not succeeded so far). Right now it looks like I have to do a private import from abroad, if I want to get it (very expensive and I just want one bottle).
But I did find Cruzan Mango and now I have one of those in my kitchen ready for making drinks. Anyone that could help me with a tasty recipe with Cruzan Mango?

Maggy, we'll have to get you stocked up in November! I like the basic Mojito with the Cruzan Mango. I would add any sugar to taste since the Cruzan fruit rums have artificial sweetener in them.
Mint leaves mulled with sugar
Ice
Squeeze of lime
(Mango) Rum to taste
Club soda to taste
Dangerous by the pitcher! Bacardi has some recipes, but we do not use Bacardi Rum. The Cruzan white works better, 10 cane, etc.
