I would like to hear what Hilary thinks about the press issues now. I caught M. Albright on MSNBC this morning. I thought I was in some kind of time warp bad acid flashback. Guess who’s going back to Washington? Holly crap, can they resurrect any other Clinton retreads? I thought Obama was about change? New minds, new ideas. I guess it is the ole retro change thingy.

Yeah, why would they do that? I got kinda tired of all that prosperity and budget surplus stuff during the Clinton years too.

That said, you know how you are upset by all the Bush hating going on?
Believe it or not, it may not be as bad as it could be here on the forum because perhaps some of us have refrained from saying what we REALLY think about him in the spirit of we are glad its over/lets move on/ we got bigger fish to fry.

Bush has been treated very harshly in the media lately, sure, and maybe its made you hyper-sensitive to any critism here, but now I am getting a little tired of the knee jerk Clinton bashing that goes on here.

I am not interested in getting in a pissing contest Clinton v. Bush, because that’s a no win game, hence the reference to bait.
We all know that those on the right think that everything is Clinton's fault, so please give it a rest already.

Rewrite history all you want but remember Iraq has not in any way been tied to 911.

How is saying that during the Clinton years there was incident after incident where American lives were lost, and in one case our troops humiliated (Somalia), akin to "rewriting history".

And then, when all else fails, liberals always come back to "Iraq was not connected with 911". Our discussion had absolutely nothing to do with Iraq, yet you still have to bring it up.

I am as a woman pleased to see a woman tapped to take Clinton's seat, even if she is pro-gun rights! SHOCKING I know. .

When are we ever going to get past these labels as a function of someone's candidacy for a political position? Why would you be happier if a woman got the position? I mean, if you can give me an honest assessment that CK was the most qualified person in the state of NY to take that job, then fine. As you are a woman, maybe I cannot pretend to put myself in your shoes in the joy you might feel when a competent woman gets the job over an equally competent man. I get that. But why don't we all begin with the premise that the most capable/qualified PERSON should get the job, regardless of their anatomy. If that is a man, so be it. If that is a woman, so be it. If it is a post-op transexual, all the better (in terms of fairness).

The difference with Caroline is that she decided to step aside when she saw that either 1) it wasn't gonna happen or 2) when we realized she was out of her league or 3) when she truly did have a family situation of a magnitude that made her reconsider the time and energy she had to devote to the position.

More subtle Palin bashing. This woman will be heard from again, and that is in the best interest of this nation.

So in summary. Caroline stepped aside and the media didn't give her a pass.

Nor does she deserve one.

Don’t think there was too much Bush hating going on in America for many many months right after 9/11, in part because of their brilliant use of the “patriot card” and much more so because we were all rallied around a common cause. Most reasonable folks put their “Bush stole the election” cards away and supported him with >50% approval ratings even up until the last straw of Katrina.

Conversely, here is just a little flavor of the hate and fear being peddled by the right just 24-48 HOURS AFTER OBAMA HAS BEEN ON THE JOB:
